Activities at Crabwall Hall Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Activities Coordinator

We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home and we work together to give residents the best possible experience. We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centered program of events and activities. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends. The home also has its very own minibus for our numerous outings for coffee and shopping, which residents love.

Life at Crabwall Hall Care Home

Home host talent competition

Here at Crabwall Hall, our residents enjoyed a Christmas Talent Show put on by some of our very own staff, we are excited to show you pictures from what we can only describe as a fabulous night, with residents and staff wanting an Oncor the next night.

Staff got together to perform various talents, of which included: The Tramps, Amy Winehouse, The Mirror, Cilla, The Snowman and last of all Mariah Carey, we had 3 judges, residents Alan, Karen and John and gave scores at the end of each performance, to end the night we had Christmas songs and dancing which brought happy memories to all. Our residents joined in with the singing, and clapped along.

Light switch on!

Lighting up time got a whole new meaning at Crabwall Hall Care Home as the community came together to see the home’s Christmas lights switched on for the very first time this Christmas.

Staff and residents here at Crabwall Hall, got in the Christmas spirit by inviting the community to come and join in with staff and residents who all gathered in the home’s garden for the occasion.

We had two special visitors, Santa was handing out presents to the children and Fiona the Donkey was putting a smile on everyone's face. There was mulled wine, hot chocolate, pulled pork batches, hot dogs and sweets along with lots of other Christmas treats all prepared by head chef, Ian Preston to keep everyone warm.

Bird feeders

As the weather is turning colder, we decided here at Crabwall Hall to make some home made bird/wildlife feeders, our residents enjoyed getting creative mixing the seeds and putting in to pots to dot around the gardens to help feed all the wildlife we have here in our beautiful gardens.

We think you will agree they turned out brilliant and we hope the wildlife have a tasty treat.

Christmas Jumper Day

We are helping to make the world a better place by wearing a festival jumpers today in aid of Save the Children’s annual fundraising event, Christmas Jumper Day.

Our staff and residents joined in the occasion by wearing a whole range of different festive t-shirts, jumpers, headbands and raise awareness for children in need all around the world.

We all looked amazing but we do think Paul our maintenance man stole the show dressed as a Christmas Tree. Residents Barbara and Gerald won the Best Jumper prize. It was a wonderful day, enjoyed by all.

Elf Day

Yesterday we swapped our uniforms for costumes on National Elf Day in an effort to raise funds to help people living with dementia.

Launched by the Alzheimer’s Society and delivered directly from the North Pole, Elf Day was created to sprinkle some festive cheer on fundraising towards finding a cure for dementia.

We were able to enjoy elf-themed games, quizzes and delicious sweet and savoury treats, prepared by our talented chef.

Residents enjoying knit and natter

Knit and natter is a popular activity at Crabwall Hall, some residents struggle with bigger needles so we have provided smaller, lighter needles which has put a smile on their faces as many are now able to knit again.

Natter flows while music plays in the background, we do have a knit and natter drop in session running every Tuesday at 2.15pm throughout November no need to book in just turn up
