"Barchester Crabwall Hall Care Home is a high-quality care home. The fabric of the building is good and well-maintained. The staff are very caring and know the residents well. Food is prepared on-site to a high standard. The activity team are great, something on every day plus trips out to coffee shops, local pubs and retail shops."

"This was my first visit to Crabwall Hall. I was immediately impressed by the place, furnishings, cleanliness, friendly staff, comfortable rooms lovely garden area, accessible by walking aids. The lunch was lovely, beautifully prepared and served damask tablecloths and napkins. All staff were friendly and inclusive. Having no experience of care homes I was amazed at the programme of activities."

"We were shown around by friendly knowledgeable staff. All the people we met enjoyed being at Crabwell Hall. The seating areas, garden and dining area were like a very pleasant hotel. We were very impressed. The location is quite rural. The only difficulty was very little parking available, but that may just have been due to circumstances as there was a car park."

"The care home is in a good, rural location with nice grounds, and they have a nice outdoor space for residents to get fresh air. My mum has been there for two-three weeks, and I couldn't fault the home. The staff were helpful and caring, and the food was delicious. My mum will be wanting to return for respite in the future."

"My mother is very well cared for and has improved in many ways, physically, mentally and emotionally since arriving at Crabwall. The staff are very kind and thoughtful and I always receive a warm and friendly welcome when I visit. I only have limited knowledge of the meals and activities so not sure how much choice she has in either of these, though she rarely complains to me. The staff work well and remain cheerful in difficult circumstances with the building works."

"A wonderful mix of staff, who are all professional, dedicated and truly eclectic. This is the strongest part of the home. Unfortunately, the visiting arrangements, which have been draconian, are still quite restricted and you need to take this into account when deciding."

"We found all the staff to be extremely welcoming and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. The setting is clean, tidy and has a very homely feel. Mum's move into Barchester Crabwall Hall was managed sensitively, with care and safely: both towards Mum and us, the family, at what is a very difficult and emotional time. The staff have been supportive, attentive and also kept us informed. Attention to detail and risk associated with Covid have been well managed. A very professional, caring team. I look forward to Covid restrictions lifting so that Mum can enjoy more activities, visits and "normal" times, including trips and visits."

"Visiting Mum yesterday was great. Due to lockdown, I have not seen her for months. We kept a social distance of 3m but unfortunately, the table with the visit next to us was too close, although it was 3m away. The lady was shouting and over talking us, making it very difficult to hear Mum. If they were further apart it would be fantastic."

"We looked at a number of care homes for my mother and the thing that appealed to us straight away with Crabwall was the friendliness of the staff. There is always a nice busy atmosphere and I have never had a poor experience with anyone. If you ask for something to be done it gets done. It' a really homely atmosphere and I would recommend it to anyone."

"I was very well looked after and only have one criticism which was minor. I think that it would be better if the heavy duvet which I appreciate was used for appearance, could be replaced at some time with a lightweight cover which would be equally attractive but more practical."

"Came here for respite care and, as I am on my own and was recovering from a broken hip, decided to stay. Never thought I would want to be in a home but have been pleasantly surprised. It is not perfect but everyone is kind and thoughtful. The building is very nice and lovely gardens. I think it would be difficult to find a better place."

"Crabwall was home to my mother-in-law for 4 1/2 years until her recent death. She was safe and happy here. Staff looked after her with care, humour and dignity. Even as her health deteriorated she was encouraged to be involved in daily life within the home. Whenever we visited we were made to feel very welcome. Any queries we had were dealt with quickly, effectively and sympathetically. Throughout the last days of her life, she was made to feel cherished. She was monitored so carefully that we knew she was receiving the best possible care."

"My sister has been with you a number of years. She has been looked after, both medically and personally so well that it was always a joy to visit her. We live many miles away in Oxfordshire but she was always ready and dressed beautifully when we arrived and her wellbeing shone through. "My aunt has been a resident for 5 months and has lots of help from staff during settling in period. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and every member of staff is always friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble, problems and worries my aunt has had have been dealt with immediately and sympathetically, especially when she had problems using her phone. Someone was always available to help. Calls to the office with questions were welcomed and problems resolved promptly. Facilities are excellent, clean and well maintained. When visiting we are always offered drinks. There are activities provided every day which are well organised. We were present for two a choir and visiting people who brought animals. I am really pleased with Crabwall Hall as a home for my aunt."

"My Father in law has been a resident of Crabwall Hall Mollington, he was made very welcome from the beginning. He had amazing care right to the end, the staff were friendly, approachable, very patient and hard working. My Father in laws daily saying was "he had no complaints about living here" which was of great comfort to the family. He had a good appetite and always enjoyed the food, and of course the freshly baked cakes. I would highly recommend Crabwall Hall, many thanks to the manager and all her hard working team for making a difficult situation for all of us pleasant."

"This review refers to my wife who is having several weeks "convalescence" at the care home. It has been written with her input and she agrees with what has been written. She is 82 and rather frail. She has enjoyed exceptional personal care and medical supervision during her stay; The staff of the house called our family doctor promptly to ensure my wife's treatment was appropriate and could not have been more attentive. The atmosphere is supportive and cheerful and she is receiving exemplary care."

"My mother was in this home for a couple of months respite last year. The home was beautiful - wonderful friendly staff, activities, trips, and beautiful gardens. She has now decided she can no longer cope at home - aged 96!- so has moved in here permanently. My brother and I had absolutely no hesitation in putting her in here as we know she will be well looked after. The staff remembered her and welcomed her with open arms."

"My wife has short term memory loss and the staff show great warmth and understanding in all they do for her. Detailed attention in always given to cleanliness and medication. This is an outstandingly good care home, well managed, fully staffed and with excellent food. The daily programs of activities are varied and my wife feels she is away on holiday. "My mother became a resident here following a serious illness. I have nothing but praise for all the staff who treated my mum with great care and dignity. I was kept fully informed of her condition and any changes, and whenever I rang there was always someone to talk to. As I do not live near the home this was very important to me. Sadly, my mother passed away recently, but again the staff could not have been more compassionate. I highly recommend this home."

"I cannot speak highly enough of Crabwall Hall - the staff were wonderful with my mother and it is more of a hotel environment than a care home. It is very well managed in every respect, the rooms are clean and well furnished, as are the communal areas. My mother enjoyed the food and the activities, and her state of health improved dramatically in the two weeks she spent at Crabwall. I cannot recommend it highly enough and would definitely use it for respite care in the future."

"I have been a happy resident of Crabwall Hall care home for four and a half years with no wish to move elsewhere. We have en suite rooms cleaned daily and an excellent laundry. Assisted baths are given twice weekly and visiting. Meals are served in an attractive dining room with much choice appreciated by the residents. Activities include quizzes, games and relatives and friends all welcomed. Our carers are excellent, cheerful well trained unflappable and kind. The home is managed by an excellent team organiser , full of ideas and always approachable. Crabwell Hall is a fine home."

It came up to all my expectations so much so that I am staying on for another week. "I and my father and our family have been well pleased with the care and support given to him since he first came here in August 2015. The management and staff as a whole are very caring, kind and friendly. They go that extra mile to ensure that my dad is happy and ok. "A long established and well located care home just outside Chester in very pleasant grounds. The home is well managed and staffed by competent and pleasant personnel. The food is good and the provision of activities for residents comprehensive for those wishing to participate. Car parking is plentiful. The home is not exactly cheap but it competitive against others in the area."

"An extremely pleasant, warm, approachable home setting in a fantastic rural situation but so close to the city centre and amenities. Staff, from the moment of entering the building are very welcoming and extremely helpful and appear enthusiastic to be working here. The atmosphere and characteristics of the home are delightful and homely, doesn't resemble a typical care home. My resident has settled nicely and like other residents is very well taken care of, always appears well kept and healthy. There are never any complaints, only if a meal is not liked."

"In all the time my mother has been at Crabwall Hall Care Home, I have found the home, staff, residents and residents family members very caring. There is always a lovely atmosphere when visiting and staff are very approachable and understanding when we have any concerns regarding my mother. We always receive feedback when needed. "It was with some tribulation that I first entered Crabwall Hall Care Home as a resident, my first and only experience of this sort of facility. I wouldn't have been concerned; I found myself in a comfortable, ensuite accommodation which was quiet with a pleasant view overlooking the garden. The staff and other residents are very friendly and helpful - first names used throughout. Breakfasts are on trays and all other meals come in the comfortable dining room, adjacent to the cafe lounge. There is a large TV, supplementing the smaller units found in personal accommodation. This is a very friendly and comfortable place to be, which I return to frequently."

"Crabwell Hall Care Home provides care for my 91-year-old mum which it would be hard to improve on. The staff are efficient, kind and caring. The premises are excellent. The gardens are lovely and well looked after, which mum loves. The home makes a huge effort to provide activities for the residents as well as frequent trips out to local places of interest. "My mother-in-law has been a resident for the last three years eight months. Unfortunately we don't feel she has been as content over the last six months or so. Any problems we have seem to be a nuisance. Getting a light to work in her bathroom has taken weeks. She has had a fall, is this a result of lack of lighting in the bathroom! she doesn't like the new food regime as we have heard from other residents. We want her to be happy and content."
