I recently visited Crabwall Hall Residential Home and very much enjoyed my visit and meeting with the manager, Nicole Welch. My first impression was that the home is modern and well cared for in a tranquil setting just outside Chester. I was made very welcome by Nicole and was impressed with the professionalism and caring way she deals with her residents. I highly recommend the home and in particular Barchester as they are considered to be one of the best care providers in the country and my visit to Crabwall Hall confirmed this.

I have visited a number of care homes in preparation for my mum. I find you get a feeling for the place when you walk through the doors and Crabwall Hall feels instantly warm and welcoming. We attended the Christmas Fayre on Dec 13th and the head of care, Nicole was there to oversee things and took time to show my mum around even though she wasn't actually working and we hadn't made a formal appointment. It all feels very positive!

My father, Peter, always stays at Crabwall Hall for respite care. This enables me to take a break and visit family who live away. Dad always enjoys his stays and finds the staff so helpful and caring. This always re-assures me whilst I am away and I can relax knowing that Dad is well cared for.

"Dad died & mum simply wasn't coping! She wasn't eating, washing herself/ clothes/bed. Not meeting people. Wouldn't turn the heating on- simply existed on cigarettes & wine. She fell & didn't tell us, so I found her with a very swollen ankle. That was the lead up to the moving in @ Crabwall. The hospital - broken ankle & now dementia- Said she would need support. So initially it was for 6weeks. It took a few weeks to settle in- she kept her bags packed. She has truly settled in. It was the staff's friendliness that made us choose it, it's warm, cosy & home from home. We're delighted."

"My mother has been there since May 2023. The care is excellent and I am very confident that she is well looked after. In fact, she is so well looked after that when she first arrived, she was very poorly and had lost a lot of weight and since then she gained her healthy weight back. The staff regularly give updates on her health and well-being and ensure that she is involved the wide range of social activities.The staff are very caring and it is a very happy home. I am so pleased with the home that I have and would continue to recommend Crabwall Hall as an excellent place to look after someone."

I sang at this care home, and it was one of the most welcoming, friendliest environments I've experienced in all the care homes I've done before. I can't wait to provide entertainment for them again! Friendly and beautiful bunch!

4star ? disappointed. Grubby corridor carpets ,1 bedside lamp with low wattage lamps making reading in bed no use for a king-size bed. stained armchair, rusty toilet bin, and for a 3 night stay the room was serviced once. Toilet paper 1 ply. Yuk Breakfast ok but buffet system difficult with trays unhinged.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this care home, after being invited to join them for lunch and meet the residents and staff.
The home is situated in a very quiet location, being at the end of a long drive, well away from the road.
It is a very safe and secure environment, having a press button door entry system, so residents and visitors can not enter and leave without staff being aware.
The home was spotlessly clean and tidy and all the residents appeared to be well cared for.
The staff were most welcoming, friendly, polite and helpful.
On arrival I was given a conducted tour of the gardens, which were well kept and included flowers and fruit trees.
I enjoyed the lovely lunch and refreshments before and after were in abundance. I later joined the residents in the lounge for a quiz, bingo, drinks and cake.
I spent a most enjoyable day at this home, I give it a five star rating and highly recommend it.

"My mum has been in Crabwall Hall Residential Care Home for 7 years. In all the time thet my Mum has been in Crabwall Hall care home I have always thought the staff care about her. The staff are kind to her, they are friendly and understanding despite her failing memory. There are always things going on in the home run by the excelent activities team. The home is clean and well maintained providing a pleasant environment for the residents. The gardens are particularly pleasant and Mum loves to sit them on sunny days. The dining room and food are excellent having the atmosphere of a pleasant restaurant. I am not sure that Mum could be better looked after."

All of the staff appear to work very well together as a team and I consider the care to be exceptional, they genuinely appear to care for the residents as if they are all part of a family. "I went to look around for respite care for my 86 year old dad. The staff were all extremely friendly - the general feeling in the home was warm, caring & friendly and the meals being given looked fantastic. The rooms had a home from home feeling and the grounds & gardens were lovely."

"My father regularly uses Crabwall Hall for respite to enable me to go on short breaks. I really appreciate the professional, courteous communication I have with all the members of staff with whom I come into contact. Dad is always very well cared for when he stays and speaks fondly of his time there when he is back home. It is so important for me to be able to relax when I am away for a break. I know he is well cared for and if there happened to be any problem it would be dealt with."

The staff led by the manager have all been amazing from the initial contact, to arranging the respite, being flexible with us and on the day of arrival itself. I can't praise them highly enough! The home is wonderful and of a very high standard and although Mum took a little while to settle in, I'm sure she will very soon!"

"My mother stayed for two weeks respite care. This was a difficult time for her. The staff were very kind, cheerful and helpful and made her stay as comfortable as possible. In particular, the manager made every effort to accommodate our mother's wishes and was flexible and positive. This flowed down to all her team. Thank you."

"We have taken our mum to Barchester Crabwall Hall Care Home for a couple of weeks respite care following a spell in hospital with pneumonia and subsequent breathing difficulties. Every single member of staff has been kind and caring and very patient towards her, even when she has been behaving in a difficult manner! We could not have wished for more. Everyone who has visited her there has been extremely impressed with the facilities and the care provided. If she needs any further nursing care or respite care in the future, we will definitely be requesting a place at Crabwall."
