Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Activities Coordinator

Martin Tilly-Reed

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Martin, I'm the activities coordinator here at Collingtree Park

My role is to ensure that our activities, outings and the entertainment we provide is stimulating and inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers enriching experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities.

Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Collingtree Park that will make for a richer activities program to be developed.

I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.

We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here  to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Up and Swinging with 'Zing'

We had a wonderful time singing and dancing in the Bluebell Lounge with Carole and Peter of Zing Entertainment last week. Jean and Iris showed us their dancing shoes, whilst Joan, Margaret and our other residents sang and clapped along to songs from the 1950's.

We've decided between us that Collingtree Park should be part of the set, with the backing dancers, singers and groupies. Ivy even said she would make a poster to hold at their next performance.

Monday Morning Fitness

Monday Fitness on Bluebell Walk courtesy of G-Fitness! Today our residents practised muscle flexibility and strengthening their core. It's so important for our residents to keep active and lead a healthy lifestyle. Martin said "My wife told me to attend keep fit, and I'm glad I did - we always have a laugh and I feel better for it too!".

Thank you Anya, for leading another fun filled class for our residents

Happy Birthday 'Margaret'

Over the weekend we celebrated Margaret's 84th birthday. Margaret enjoyed sharing her 'Collingtree Cake' and the gorgeous lilies sent by her family. Staff and residents sang to Margaret and enjoyed an afternoon of games, cake and laughter. We hope you had the happiest of birthdays Margaret.

Nail Pampering

Manicure Morning for our ladies on Bluebell walk! June said "You're such a good girl for doing our nails every week - I shall have to start writing you a wage slip!". No need June, this is part of our weekly pampering activities, and we love to make sure everyone looks and feels their best.

Costa Coffee for Macmillan Winner

Our Macmillan Coffee Morning winner, Pam, enjoyed her trip to Costa Coffee, Northampton this morning! Pam loves soy cappuccinos, and thoroughly enjoyed her chocolate sprinkles too. When I asked if Pam had enjoyed her coffee, she said "It might be the best, but it's definitely the biggest!".

We also enjoyed browsing the store, and picked up a little something for Pam's husband Roy, who has been a little under the weather recently. As you can see, he was very pleased when we returned with a big bar of chocolate just for him. Congratulations on winning our Macmillan prize Pam, we hope Roy shares his chocolate with you!

Dreaming of a Takeaway

It's the little things! Robert mentioned a few weeks ago, that despite the food here being lovely, he really misses fast food. With that in mind, Skye took his order and whizzed down to KFC to get him his 'Boneless Banquet' and fizzy pop!

Robert said "It was very sweet of you to do that, the food is good but the company is better". So happy to see you smile and enjoy your takeaway Robert.
