Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Martin Tilly-Reed
Hello, my name is Martin, I'm the activities coordinator here at Collingtree Park
My role is to ensure that our activities, outings and the entertainment we provide is stimulating and inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers enriching experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities.
Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Collingtree Park that will make for a richer activities program to be developed.
I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.
We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Collingtree Park Care Home

Mental Health Awareness Day
Music is a great way to improve our residents' mental health! So, to celebrate we invited Pete from Nice N Easy Activity Show Community Group to join us for a good old fashioned sing along in the community lounges.
Residents enjoyed singing and dancing to the classics of their time, and some banter from Pete and staff too. Keep dancing, singing and smiling everyone!

Pink Bakes for Breast Cancer
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and on Daisy Lane, we have kickstarted the month with our lovely ladies in Pink last week with some pink cake decorating. As you can see, our residents loved the decorating, but the eating more!

Hairdresser Delights!
At Collingtree, we recognise the importance of making sure we look good in order to feel good too. So, for #MentalHealthAwarenessDay we would like to thank you to our resident's hair dresser Bev for making our residents feel a million dollars. Mick said he felt 20 years younger, while Barbara said she loved being pampered.

Up and Swinging with 'Zing'
We had a wonderful time singing and dancing in the Bluebell Lounge with Carole and Peter of Zing Entertainment last week. Jean and Iris showed us their dancing shoes, whilst Joan, Margaret and our other residents sang and clapped along to songs from the 1950's.
We've decided between us that Collingtree Park should be part of the set, with the backing dancers, singers and groupies. Ivy even said she would make a poster to hold at their next performance.

Monday Morning Fitness
Monday Fitness on Bluebell Walk courtesy of G-Fitness! Today our residents practised muscle flexibility and strengthening their core. It's so important for our residents to keep active and lead a healthy lifestyle. Martin said "My wife told me to attend keep fit, and I'm glad I did - we always have a laugh and I feel better for it too!".
Thank you Anya, for leading another fun filled class for our residents

Happy Birthday 'Margaret'
Over the weekend we celebrated Margaret's 84th birthday. Margaret enjoyed sharing her 'Collingtree Cake' and the gorgeous lilies sent by her family. Staff and residents sang to Margaret and enjoyed an afternoon of games, cake and laughter. We hope you had the happiest of birthdays Margaret.
