Activities at Chalfont Lodge Care Home

Chalfont Lodge is a large care home and we have a diverse range of groups and events to ensure that everyone feels welcome and included. In the Lifestyle team we work hard to create a sense of community and ensure there is always someone to talk to and something to do.

Our residents help us to plan the monthly lifestyle programme, making sure that everyone has something they like, enabling people to keep up with life long hobbies or pick up new ones. We have long term projects like our summer parties, car shows, BBQs, craft fairs, Christmas shows to mention a few and residents can be as involved as they would like in all stages of the planning or just come along and enjoy on the day.

We love going out on trips, to lunch, shopping or to socialise with other local groups, we also have many people who come into visit us with church services, music, talks and support for our bigger events.

We have a fantastic team of staff and every department is involved in making sure our residents get the most out of living here. We have a brilliant music therapist who works her magic 3 days a week, running group and individual sessions. Our Physiotherapy team keep everyone fit and active, working with us to make sure everyone has access to sports and team games.

We have a full programme groups, events and clubs but none of it would be possible without our residents and their families, we all work together to make this a home from home and to keep laughter and friendship at the heart of what we do.

Life at Chalfont Lodge Care Home

Trip Out

Residents enjoyed a visit to St Albans and within that standing in the old Roman town walls, was the Verulamium Museum, which showcases finds from the Roman town of Verulamium, and exhibits on what life was like in Roman Britain. Everyone had a great time looking around the recreated Roman rooms learning more about the Roman world, but what our residents loved most was going across to the Roman Theatre, discussing the interesting past it has all whilst enjoying a picnic in the sunshine!

MacMillan Coffee Morning

In recognition of Macmillan Coffee Morning, Chalfont Lodge got involved in fun-filled activities to raise funds for the wonderful charity. Our talented Chef - Kim Keefe had also prepared delicious homemade cakes for everyone to enjoy along with hot drinks to help raise funds. We would like to say a big thank you to all who have joined and donated in support of the fantastic cause which helped us to raise over £130!

Classic Car Show

At Chalfont Lodge we had an exciting weekend with our Classic Car Show. Residents got the chance to look at magnificent vintage cars, brought into the home for all to admire. They spent the day learning about the cars and looking at all of the different makes and models, discussing their histories with the Car Club.

One resident was even lucky enough to go for a spin in the Austin Healey 3000!

Performing Pets

Our residents thoroughly enjoyed a visit from two beautiful and fluffy 5 month old Toy Poodles. Tiny Tim and his sister Tilly went visiting around the home giving lots of cuddles and bringing a smile to everyone's face. Animals bring so much joy and we love having them come to see us. Thank you to Performing Pets.

Sarah Lander-Scott, Head of Customer Experience, presented the Resident Ambassador of the Year award. This award gives recognition to our residents who share their views in support of the homes and act as the voice of those unable/unwilling to express themselves. The winner is Michael Taylor from Chalfont Lodge Care Home. Congratulations!

The award was accepted by Raj Boodhoo, General Manager at the home.

Sophie & Mikey

Did you know we have regular events and entertainment happening at our home? And today we were excited to welcome two amazing, singers Sophie & Mikey who came to perform for our residents and get us all singing and dancing along to our favourite classics. It was great to see all of the residents take part and we even nearly had our own ABBA band start with two of our residents!
