Activities at Caldy Manor Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators work together to provide daily activities suited to the tastes of residents. We encourage those we support to continue with any hobbies whilst they stay at home. We also hold group activities, such as exercise to music, sing-alongs, craft sessions and visits to local places of interest. There are also evening events, including cheese & wine evenings and race nights. We keep families up-to-date through our newsletter and notices that can be found across the home. Family and friends are always welcome to join in!

Stephanie Boyd

Lead Activities Coordinator

Hi my name is Steph and I am Lead Activities here at Caldy Manor. As an Activities Coordinator I focus on encouraging our residents to take part in outdoor trips on the mini bus, delivering varied exercise classes and assisting residents with their chosen activities as part of our homes life enrichment plan. It is important that we continue to ensure our residents are connected to their local community.

Life at Caldy Manor Care Home

Historic Royal Palaces

Our residents were treated to a special virtual sensory storytelling session.  Together with Art Historian Jon Sleigh and the Historic Royal Palaces community team, we explored several royal palaces through the theme of food, dining and celebration!

We enjoyed a fantastic taste-a-long experience from the comfort of our home, from Tudor treats to Stuart sweets. A lovely time was had by all.

Random Acts of Kindness Day

Residents decorated wooden hearts to add to treat bags that were handed out to staff on this special day. A lot of hard work went into creating these beautiful gifts. Arts & crafts is always a popular activity at Caldy Manor.

Pancake Day

Pancake Day was celebrated with a selection of pancakes made by our Chef. Residents chose their favourite toppings to add to a delicious dessert.

Valentines Day

Valentine’s Day was celebrated at Caldy Manor with a special lunch prepared by our Head Chef and an afternoon of music and dancing. A special time to reminisce and remember those we love. Pictured our Audrey and Derek Holland enjoying lunch together.

Painting Masterclass

Painting with water colours and acrylic paints on canvases. " I am no good at art". This is what everyone said but the art that was produced was wonderful and it all meant something and that's what it is all about. Even the staff thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Making new memories whilst thinking of old memories.

International Flower Day

Today we celebrated International Flower Day in style, a great way in mid-winter to bring joy and happiness into the home.  Our residents took part in flower-based activities throughout the day including a flower arranging session, a flower quiz which everyone really enjoyed. The collective knowledge about flowers gained from years of gardening experience was very impressive.
