Caldy Manor Care Home on the Wirral
Caldy Manor is a residential and dementia care home in a beautiful listed period building, located in the village of Caldy on the Wirral. Our care home provides support for frail older people with a one-to-one approach, which reflects individual interests, listed in detailed care plans. We offer lovely rooms suitable for both individuals and couples.
Dementia Care
The home's specialist Memory Lane Community utilises a careful blend of skills and techniques developed by leading experts in the field of dementia care, incorporating person-centred design in its use of colour and cues to help individuals navigate through the home, whilst thoughtful interior design features, such us adapted crockery and tableware assists with reminiscence. Communities are broken up into separate units with a family feel so people can feel safe and comfortable. Care is focused on independence, dignity and choice, with a person-centred approach. Staffing levels reflect the needs of residents, and people living with dementia are offered a range of activities to help preserve life skills, support interactions and retain a sense of purpose and selfhood.
Caldy Manor has good links with health professionals in the area, bringing in GPs, district nurses, dieticians, memory nurses and physiotherapists, as required. The home also has a full-time Activities Coordinator , who helps staff organise group and individual activities, such as outings, celebrations of special days, animal visits, exercise groups and quizzes.
We welcome visitors at any time and are happy to offer helpful advice if we can, so please feel free to call us or to drop in. Both coast and city facilities are within easy reach and public transport links are good.
