Activities at Caldy Manor Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. We encourage those we support to continue with any hobbies whilst they stay at home. We also hold group activities, such as exercise to music, sing-alongs, craft sessions and visits to local places of interest. There are also evening events, including cheese & wine evenings and race nights. We keep families up-to-date through our newsletter and notices that can be found across the home. Family and friends are always welcome to join in!

Life at Caldy Manor Care Home

Home welcome baby chicks!
Staff, residents and families at Barchester’s Caldy Manor care home, in Wirral welcome 3 new baby chicks.
There was a lot of egg-citement at the home, as Caldy Manor were donated 3 chicks from one of their resident’s family members. On the chick’s arrival, residents were able to pet and feed the chicks as they found their footing in their new home. The chicks have settled very nicely and are loved very much by everyone at Caldy Manor. Residents all came together to name the chicks which are Twinkle, Belle and Sparkie.

‘Herstory’ of Mayfair
Residents across our services had a fantastic time joining Mandy Morrow for a virtual walking tour to learn about the ‘Herstory’ of Mayfair. The Mayfair of Nightingales may be long gone but it still holds a 20th century charm. Birthplace to the late Queen Elizabeth II, home to one of WWII's most decorated female war heroes and a tale of a wealthy Aristocrat and one of France's favourite designers.
We were delighted to take a walk down memory lane and discover stories from one of London's most iconic areas. The experience was truly enjoyed by all.

Baby Group
Our regular baby group came for another visit which went rally well and we have made this a monthly thing. The mums and babes are starting to form a nice bond with our residents and they look forward to seeing the babies development with each visit.

Summer Fete
Even though the weather was poor, that didn’t stop us from enjoying ourselves at our summer fete. We had a visit from a pony called cupcake followed by live entertainers. We had tombola, face painting, garden games for the children and much more. We finished the day off with a buffet made by our fabulous chef.

NHS 75th Birthday
For the NHS 75th birthday we had a little party to celebrate all things NHS. We thanked everyone who has and is working for the NHS which we have a few residents who did and was nice listening to their stories. Followed by an afternoon of chair exercises and games. There was balloon tennis, bean bag toss and we really enjoyed throwing the ball into the cup to see who got the highest score.

National Ice Cream Day
Residents across our homes had a fantastic time during a special live virtual event in celebration on National Ice Cream Day. Wall’s team took us on a great journey through history, sharing fascinating details about the brand since its launch in 1922. We learned about major innovations such as the introduction of Mr Whippy, Cornetto, Viennetta, Twister, and Carte d'Or.
Residents were treated to a singalong to Cornetto classic ads, an interactive quiz about fun Wall’s facts and best-of-all, an ice-cream tasting session. It was a delightful experience for everyone, especially our ice-cream lovers.
