Activities at Caldy Manor Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators work together to provide daily activities suited to the tastes of residents. We encourage those we support to continue with any hobbies whilst they stay at home. We also hold group activities, such as exercise to music, sing-alongs, craft sessions and visits to local places of interest. There are also evening events, including cheese & wine evenings and race nights. We keep families up-to-date through our newsletter and notices that can be found across the home. Family and friends are always welcome to join in!

Stephanie Boyd

Lead Activities Coordinator

Hi my name is Steph and I am Lead Activities here at Caldy Manor. As an Activities Coordinator I focus on encouraging our residents to take part in outdoor trips on the mini bus, delivering varied exercise classes and assisting residents with their chosen activities as part of our homes life enrichment plan. It is important that we continue to ensure our residents are connected to their local community.

Life at Caldy Manor Care Home

Avalon School Visit

Avalon School Visit

Residents enjoyed a visit from the nursery class of Avalon School. The children met residents and took part in an Easter egg hunt in the garden. The children wore their Easter bonnets and sang songs for the residents.

We are looking forward to visiting the school next month for afternoon tea.

Fay's Birthday

Fay celebrated her 88th birthday here at Caldy Manor and received a jigsaw puzzle from her friends.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day

Residents made Mother’s Day cards for each other. We put together chocolate sweet bags and a small bunch of flowers for each of our special ladies.

Residents received cards and flowers from their families and enjoyed afternoon tea with visitors.

Easter Preparations

Residents have been busy making Easter bonnets to wear for the visit from Avalon School. Everyone chose their own decorations. We had a lovely afternoon together remembering Easter bonnets from childhood years.

Nutrition & Hydration Week

Nutrition & Hydration Week

Residents enjoyed tasting pancakes, fruit snacks, juices, smoothies and sundaes. We had a lovely afternoon tea with cakes and pastries that were prepared by our Head Chef. Residents also suggested new dishes they wanted to try over the next few weeks.

A Tribute to Bill

A Tribute to Bill

Family, friends, staff members and fellow residents recently paid tribute to William 'Bill' Parker, a 97 year old war veteran who recently passed away in hospital. Bill lived at Caldy Manor with Dorothy, his wife of 65 years.

He will be sadly missed by everyone at the home. He was a true hero and we are glad we knew him and cared for him.
