Activities at Caldy Manor Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators work together to provide daily activities suited to the tastes of residents. We encourage those we support to continue with any hobbies whilst they stay at home. We also hold group activities, such as exercise to music, sing-alongs, craft sessions and visits to local places of interest. There are also evening events, including cheese & wine evenings and race nights. We keep families up-to-date through our newsletter and notices that can be found across the home. Family and friends are always welcome to join in!

Stephanie Boyd

Lead Activities Coordinator

Hi my name is Steph and I am Lead Activities here at Caldy Manor. As an Activities Coordinator I focus on encouraging our residents to take part in outdoor trips on the mini bus, delivering varied exercise classes and assisting residents with their chosen activities as part of our homes life enrichment plan. It is important that we continue to ensure our residents are connected to their local community.

Life at Caldy Manor Care Home

A Personalised Gift

Resident, Irene, was delighted to receive a special personalised gift from Terra the German Shephard and her owner. Terra was recently announced as winner of the home ‘Cutest Pet’ award, beating the other entrants. Popular Terra also has her very own social media Facebook page and sent Irene a copy of her own calendar as a gift.

Irene was delighted with this personalised gift, as she loves German Shephards and used to have one as a pet.

Community Pen Pals

Local children in the community and sister care homes have been writing to us to share their experience of lockdown. We have been replying to letters and postcards which are now proudly displayed in the lounge for staff and residents to read and enjoy.

Pictured is Edith McKnight who is holding two of her favourite cards received & Andy Petty who has been joining in art & craft sessions in the sunny garden making thank you cards to send.

Happy Birthday Rose

Rose Walsh celebrated her 92nd birthday opening lots of gifts sent in by her family.  A very special video call with her son Robert made the day extra special. We made a special chocolate birthday cake which was thoroughly enjoyed together with Rose's friends at Caldy manor.

Antiques Roadshow

Caldy Manor welcomed Bonham’s Auctioneers to our very own ‘Antiques Roadshow’. Visitors and residents brought along antiques to be valued by experts. We had a very interesting afternoon learning about ceramics and jewellery.

Valentine's Day

Staff put their heart & soul into Valentine's day at Caldy Manor this year.  A special visitor in the shape of a heart brought not only smiles but delicious chocolates for every resident.

Hannah Roberts, General Manager said "Love was in the air throughout the day, I am very proud of the activities team as well as carers at Caldy Manor as residents really did enjoy the event which also featured one of our favourite entertainers in the afternoon, ‘The Gee Jays’ who sang many of our favourite tunes"
