Activities at Boroughbridge Manor Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Hi my name is Shelbie, I have recently been promoted to Head of Activities here at Boroughbridge Manor.
I have worked at Boroughbridge Manor for 7 years, I love making our residents smile. I get great satisfaction knowing I have made someone’s day better!
Myself, Leoni and Suzanne have created a wonderful culture within Boroughbridge Manor and we work together to give our residents the best possible experiences.
We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centred program of events and activities. We are extremely fortunate to have our very own minibus, we love taking the residents out for coffee, shopping and lots of fun trips out whether that be to the museum or the seaside.

Happy New Year
New Year’s Day is the perfect time to reflect on the past year and set goals for the future, so here at Boroughbridge Manor residents enjoyed making some of their own New Year resolutions.
We indulged in a delicious New Years Day lunch and then created our very own personalised time capsules using the Oomph Wellness activity book and finished

Christmas Day at Boroughbridge Manor
We had a fantastic day celebrating Christmas Day here at Boroughbridge Manor.
In the morning we welcomed Father Christmas who brought gifts to all our residents - everyone was busy opening their presents and enjoying a glass of bubbly before the festive feast, prepared by our talented chef and kitchen team.
After lunch, we tuned in to watch and listen to the King's speech. Our day was filled with joy, smiles, music and laughter.
Throughout the day, residents also enjoyed visits from their loved ones. It was a very busy day, but thoroughly enjoyed by all. The pictures say it all!
Christmas Photoshoot
We spread happiness throughout the home by having our own little festive photoshoot!
Residents and staff enjoyed using a variety of props to help us capture all the joy and excitement of the season.
Creating memories are one of our favourite things to do and being a part of these moments with the residents and team is incredibly special.
Definitely something to be cherished for years to come.
Mince Pies and Hot Chocolate
We would like to say a huge thank you to Jane who kindly came in and held a hot chocolate and mince pie afternoon for the residents.
Everyone had a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed their hot chocolates topped with whipped cream and lots of marshmallows!

Christmas Cocktails
With Christmas only 8 days away we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to recreate some of our favourite festive cocktails, with a twist.
Residents created their own versions of cocktails including; a very merry fruity punch, let it snowball, wintery virgin cosmopolitans and many more delights which were all enjoyed by all.
What a fantastic way to spend a Saturday afternoon!
Aquatic Finatic
We had a wonderful morning here at Boroughbridge Manor!
This morning residents enjoyed a fantastic hands on animal experience with Jamie and Mark from Aquatic Finatic, who were both so informative.
Everyone loved holding and petting the animals, some even braved getting up close and personal with the snakes!
