Activities at Boroughbridge Manor Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Hi my name is Shelbie, I have recently been promoted to Head of Activities here at Boroughbridge Manor.
I have worked at Boroughbridge Manor for 7 years, I love making our residents smile. I get great satisfaction knowing I have made someone’s day better!
Myself, Leoni and Suzanne have created a wonderful culture within Boroughbridge Manor and we work together to give our residents the best possible experiences.
We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centred program of events and activities. We are extremely fortunate to have our very own minibus, we love taking the residents out for coffee, shopping and lots of fun trips out whether that be to the museum or the seaside.

Life at Boroughbridge Manor Care Home
It's all leek to me!
Celebrations were under way at Barchester’s Boroughbridge Manor care home, in Boroughbridge as residents and staff marked St. David’s Day.
The home was in high spirits as they celebrated the national day of Wales with Welsh flags, baking, daffodil decorations, food and music! In honour of the traditional feast day and the country’s patron saint, residents and staff were treated to traditional Welsh food and drink. Everyone tucked in to, leek cawl, Bara brith and welsh cakes washed down with a nip of delicious Welsh beer.
Pony Therapy
We enjoyed our regular visit by Katy and her beautiful mini, Blondie.
Blondie is such a sweet girl, we always love seeing her, she has such a lovely temperament and never fails to put a smile on our residents faces

Shrove Tuesday
The staff and residents at Boroughbridge Manor care home in Boroughbridge have been flipping and turning pancakes all morning in preparation for their annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Day celebrations.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed preparing the batter and decorating the pancakes with fresh fruit, berries, syrup and chocolate. Thomas, kitchen assistant at the home, flipped more than 100 pancakes, serving them up with sweet and savoury fillings for all the eager staff and residents.
Thomas said: “My secret to the best pancakes is all in the whipping. Give it some elbow grease when mixing the batter and you’ll get perfect pancakes every time. I like experimenting with the fillings – the residents’ favourites are chocolate spread and banana and of course, good old fashioned lemon and sugar!”
Funday Friday
We warmly welcomed back one of our favourite entertainers Matthew Jones-Green for a morning of moving and grooving!
We had the best time dancing the morning away, we definitely worked up an appetite and couldn’t wait to sit down with our friends for our famous fish and chip Friday.
This afternoon our memory lane community enjoyed cuppa, cake and catchups with Shelbie followed by reminiscence cards and soft ball some games to round of a great day of activities.
Valentines Day Celebrations at Boroughbridge Manor
Our home was filled with flowers, cards, balloons and decorations as we celebrated the day of love in style with sweet treats and gifts.
We marked the day by making and sending cards to loved ones, baking shortbread biscuits and a delightful afternoon tea with friends and family in the cafe.
Our residents had the opportunity to taste delicious sweet and savoury treats, prepared by our activities team whilst listening to all-time favourite love songs.
To end a fantastic day of celebrations residents enjoyed Valentines themed booklets courtesy of Oomph Wellness.
We’ve all had such a lovely day full of love and laughter.
National Pizza Day
To celebrate National Pizza Day residents marked the occasion by making their very own delicious homemade pizzas!
Residents loved having a variety of toppings to choose from to put on their chosen base.
We finished the day off by tasting our creations and they certainly did not disappoint, they were amazing!
