Activities at Bamfield Lodge Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Armistice Day

Following our Armistice Day tributes, we were enormously proud, to present our Remembrance wall hanging, to Hugh Harding at the RBL Bishopsworth Bristol. The wall hanging is a collaborative project involving our residents, staff, families and local people, who together, hand knitted 100 poppies to celebrate the centenary of the RBL.

We were also pleased to donate £40.30 to the poppy appeal, whilst at the branch.

The wall hanging will form part of a display at the Bishopsworth branch, in time for Remembrance Sunday.

The Festival of Lights

Residents have enjoyed making and decorating paper lanterns and also creating a beautiful display!

No Tricks, Just Treats

Our ‘no tricks, just treats’ Halloween party was a huge success! Residents and staff had fun playing ‘What’s in the Box?’ and we also enjoyed a Halloween playlist of spooky songs, as well as lots of seasonal treats!

Harvest Festival

Our Harvest Festival service was enjoyed by all. From baking bread, to collecting and organising the food and fruit hampers and making seasonal displays, there was plenty for residents to enjoy!

A huge thanks to our chaplaincy team, Rev Ken Turner and Julia, for a lovely service of thanksgiving! Our hampers are now on their way to our local food bank.

World Singing Day

To celebrate World Singing Day, our residents joined together in song. Using lyric books and backing tracks, we enjoyed singing popular songs from the 1950s and 1960s. It was a great day to unite and recognise the power of singing!

National Poetry Day

Residents have enjoyed speed poetry writing workshops and group poetry recitals. It has been great to see our residents express their thoughts, feelings and memories on the subject of autumn and produce a collaborative piece of poetry, which they can now proudly share with friends and family.
