Activities at Bamfield Lodge Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Bamfield Lodge Care Home
Whitehall Garden Centre trip
Residents went on a trip to Whitehall garden centre to look at all the Christmas lights and decorations. It looked very festive and magical and lots of fun and a lot of laughs were had. We ended the trip with a nice hot drink and a slice of cake in the café.
Wreath Making
The florists from Don Gays came in for a festive wreath making master class. The residents enjoyed picking out different ribbons and ornaments for their wreaths. The lounge was filled with a lovely scent of pine and of course the smell of mulled wine as making such beautiful wreaths was thirsty work!
Pub Lunch
Our two ladies fancied a good old fashioned pub lunch together. They were both in fits of giggles the entire time, reminiscing about previous husbands, pub trips and children. This was followed by a drive around Dundry as one of them used to live in the area. A great trip enjoyed by all.
Feeding the Ducks
A trip out to Chew Valley Lakes to feed the birds, our residents love getting out in the fresh air and it was a beautiful day. There was time for coffee and a specially requested trip to the shops on the way back for doughnuts.
Labour MP
Labour MP Karin Smyth came to visit Bamfield Lodge on 4th October for a chat with General Manager Kelly Irwin, and to meet staff and residents. Lots of topics were discussed from housing for residents, coping through Covid with staff and much more in between. Karin was presented with a beautiful chocolate cake covered with strawberries.
Alive activities
Alive activities have kindly arranged some free sessions of exercise with our residents, they loved the singing and movement along with sensory therapy through the feathers.
