Activities at Bamfield Lodge Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Bamfield Lodge Care Home

Easter Weekend

We had a fun filled Easter weekend, with lots of themed games including pin the carrot on the bunny! The carers delivered an Easter egg to all the residents and we enjoyed a nice cup of tea and hot cross buns

Our New Fruit Trees

We went to Blaise Nursery which is run by Bristol City Council to collect some fruit trees they kindly gifted to us. These included an apple, pear and plum tree which we are going to plant in our main outside space. We are very excited to watch them grow and even more excited for the fruit they will eventually produce.

A Wishing Washing Line Wish Granted!

One of our residents KB submitted a request to the Wishing Washing line initiative in Bristol, where they will grant a wish for a resident and hers was to revisit her youth where she was a successful dancer – we think at 99 years of age she is fantastic and her ballroom dancing was elegant and full of grace.

Dance Classes

Dance classes were held following a request from one of our residents for some dance exercise, provided by Alive activities. Movement is great for the mind, body and soul for the older generations.

Woodstock

Our residents celebrated their own version of Woodstock, where we dressed up and reminisced about music and festivals, there was a concert and lots of music and dancing.

Australia Day

We went down under for the day learning some Australian slang and having a cuddle with some tarantulas and snakes!  Lots of laughs and screams all round!
