Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Bamfield Lodge Care Home
Sunshine & Songs
Residents have been making the most of the beautiful weather. We have been enjoying garden singalongs, dancing and foot-tapping jazz music. Having this much fun is thirsty work and so we have been cooling down with delicious ice creams, squash, juices and plenty of soft drinks in order to keep us all well hydrated!
Chocolate Heaven!
In celebration of World Chocolate Day, residents created and baked the ultimate chocolate cake!
There was much discussion as we looked through old cookery books to find the perfect recipe. We also enjoyed looking at vintage bakeware and spent time reminiscing.
As you can see from the result – our bakers haven’t lost their touch!
Ramblyn Tyme!
Residents have had a wonderful afternoon enjoying sunshine and songs in our garden! We were entertained by local band ‘Ramblyn Tyme’ who sang a selection of popular country songs and familiar ballads.
We also enjoyed ice creams and light refreshments. What a great afternoon!
The Kooky Ukes
A huge thank you to local community band ‘The Kooky Ukes’ for joining our garden party. Everyone loved the '50s/'60s/'70s playlist and it was a wonderful afternoon of sunshine, song and refreshments.
A Day at the Races
Residents at Bamfield Lodge had a fabulous afternoon watching Royal Ascot on Ladies Day. Wearing posh hats and jewellery, we drank Prosecco and had fun choosing horses for the 2:30pm Norfolk Stakes (which we renamed the ‘Lady Bamfield’ Stakes!)
After prizes and certificates, we all enjoyed a traditional cream tea with scones, jam, clotted cream and local Cheddar strawberries.
Euro 2021
Residents and staff are getting ready to enjoy the Euro 2021. We have organised staff and resident sweepstakes with some great prizes, and there is lots of fun and competitiveness, with everyone rooting for their chosen team!
