Activities at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home

The activity team within our home spend a lot of time committing themselves to organising a range of activities for residents. This includes, pet therapy, trips out to local places of interest, visits from entertainers and musicians, bingo, one to one pamper time, weekly quizzes, coffee mornings, arts and crafts and baking. Activities are considered to be a crucial aspect of our home as residents look forward to upcoming events. As a result, it is essential that our team work together with dedication, to ensure residents are entertained and involved in as many activities as possible.

St Patrick's Day

Residents and staff at Stamford Bridge Beaumont celebrated all things Irish for St Patrick’s Day this week. The home was decorated with shamrocks and everyone got dressed up in green to mark the day.

Staff and residents at the home marked the day by trying their luck with a game of ‘higher / lower’ and listening to Irish music as they share stories of trips to the Emerald Isle

Happy 101st birthday Jean!

Celebrations have been in full swing at Stamford Bridge Beaumont, as one of its residents reached her 101st Birthday in style.

Jean Raine was joined by staff and residents as she celebrated her landmark birthday. A champagne reception was held at the home and Jean along with her friends enjoyed a special birthday cake made by the home’s hospitality team. Jean, had a lovely day and like most days took it all in her stride!

Jean was born in Hartlepool on the 7th of March 1920, her first job was working in a paper mill before joining the Women’s Royal Air Force during the Second World War in Lincoln, this is where she met her husband and settled to raise her two sons. In 1960 she moved to Helmsley where she later retired before coming to Stamford Bridge Beaumont where she is enjoying a new chapter of her life.

Adding a little ray of Sunshine

Residents have been busy adding a ray of sunshine throughout the home as part of their arts and crafts session.  It was all yellow as everyone created daffodils to display and the finished results is proudly displayed in the windows and looks amazing when the early Spring sunshine shines through. Are you looking forward to Spring?

Residents enjoy Betty's inspired afternoon tea

This week our Residents were treated to a Bettys Tearoom inspired afternoon tea,  they had tea in our china cups and enjoyed some delicious mouth-watering cakes and finger sandwiches especially prepared by the homes hospitality team.  Even our staff got into the spirit of the theme and a lovely afternoon was had by all as we shared stories of our visits to this iconic tea room.

Valentine's Day at Stamford

Love was in the air at Stamford Bridge Beaumont as we celebrated this special day with a Valentine’s themed afternoon tea.  During the afternoon we enjoyed listening to love songs, delicious home-made cakes especially prepared by the homes hospitality team.   During the course of the week residents also enjoyed various arts and crafts with a love theme which were displayed throughout the home for everyone to see.

Keeping residents connected

In December we had 2 visiting suites installed at our home and these have become invaluable to our residents and their family and friends who have been able to ensure relationships are maintained while still adhering to social distancing, today Richard was visited by his wife a daughter - I think the faces say it all.
