Activities at Silverbirch House Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Bo Tse

Head of Activities

With previous experience working in a care home as an activities coordinator, I have developed a strong passion for enhancing the daily lives of residents through engaging and meaningful activities.

I am thrilled to join Barchester because of its outstanding reputation for providing exceptional care and a warm, community-focused environment. In my role, I will be dedicated to creating enriching programs that promote social interaction and well-being, helping both residents and their families feel supported and connected.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Making Dreams Come True

Stewart our lovely resident was asked if he has a wish he replied he wanted to visit an art gallery!

So we made his dream a reality and took a visit with some other art loving residents to the Watts Art Gallery.

Stewart had the most amazing day and was extremely happy.

Time for a Cuppa

Thank you to everyone that came along and took part in our 'Time for a Cuppa' event to support Dementia UK We wanted to mark Dementia Action Week by hosting an event to raise money for Dementia UK.Everyone involved donated and had the chance to sit and relax, chat, enjoy some cupcakes and treats all in our wonderful bistro café area! Donations are still coming in too

National Bee Day

FASCINATING WORLD OF BEES Our residents celebrated world bee day with a talk about understanding how the environment and our climate effects their surroundings. The event covered the importance of conservation and ecology and was a fascinating topic of discussion. We got to look at how honey is made and then rounded the event off with some tea and cakes!!!

Flower Arranging

Our talented residents took part in flower arranging and created some beautiful arrangements.

The life enrichment activities we offer let our residents express their creativity and individuality and this proved a very enjoyable activity.

Dementia Disco

We joined our sister home Burwood Grange where they hosted a dementia disco! The event was such fun with great music, dancing, food and drinks and most importantly everyone had an amazing time. We got our groove on and partied non stop for some!!!

Art Sessions

We have the most creative residents who absolutely love our art sessions. Our activities are always led by our residents and what they enjoy doing, with an activities programme full each day! Barchester ensure that life enrichment is key to our day to day life in our home.
