The Rhallt Care Home in Powys
At The Rhallt we provide high quality 24-hour nursing care alongside expert care for people living with dementia. We also provide support for people with MS and Parkinson’s.
The home's specialist Memory Lane Community utilises a careful blend of skills and techniques developed by leading experts in the field of dementia care, incorporating person-centred design in its use of colour and cues to help individuals navigate through the home, whilst thoughtful interior design features, such us adapted crockery and tableware assists with reminiscence. Communities are broken up into separate units with a family feel so people can feel safe and comfortable. Care is focused on independence, dignity and choice, with a person-centred approach. Staffing levels reflect the needs of residents, and people living with dementia are offered a range of activities to help preserve life skills, support interactions and retain a sense of purpose and selfhood.
Our team of highly-qualified and attentive staff really focuses on the individual needs of the people we support with a personalised care plan in place for each person.
Our dedication can be seen across all of our departments - in our cooking, hospitality and organised activities for our residents.
Our purpose built 82-bedroomed home, which is surrounded by beautiful gardens, is located in a semi rural position on outskirts of Welshpool. We are close to local amenities and within easy reach of Shrewsbury, Oswestry and Newtown, and just a few short miles up the road and you are in the beautiful Welsh countryside.
We think you'll find that we're ideally suited to meet your needs now and in the future to ensure you get the most from your retirement years.
Renowned for our quality of care and friendly, welcoming atmosphere The Rhallt invites you to call in for a coffee and chat at any time.
Rhallt House is a beautiful residential home for up to 9 individuals without nursing needs. It has spectacular views of the mountains from the front and the canal from the back, and even has its own secluded gardens.
Residents are supported by a team leader and the local district nursing service in the confidence that the full resources of the main home are available when and if they need them.
Residents using this service may require support with washing, dressing and other daily activities that are delivered through person-centred planning, ensuring choice, dignity and respect are maintained.
The life enrichment programme aims to meet residents' choices and capabilities, providing stimulating activities in their day-to-day life, and encouraging everyone to continue to pursue their own hobbies and interests.

Hi, my name is Nicola and I am the General Manager here at The Rhallt. Welcome to our website!
I qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1992 and worked in The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital in Renal Medicine before moving to Welshpool Hospital, where I worked on the rehabilitation unit until 2003. I then worked as a Community Nurse for the Local Health Board until September 2019, when I joined the team here at The Rhallt.
During my time at the home, I have been the Head Of Unit on the Elderly Frail community before progressing to Deputy Manager, and now more excitingly, General Manager.Get in touch Meet my team
