Activities at Reigate Beaumont Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising and delivering a fun mix of activities and events chosen by the residents here at Reigate Beaumont. We work closely with the local community who get involved in all kinds of activities within the home. We enjoy all kinds of events which could be anything from trips out to local places of interest in our minibus or visits from entertainers and musicians, spending time in our beautiful gardens, or providing great activities for the mind body and soul. We liaise with local churches and regularly hold multi-congregational services at the home.
It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and invite them to our regular events. We also have a variety of volunteers who really enjoy spending time within the home too.

Life at Reigate Beaumont Care Home

Greyhound Racing Brighton & Hove
Residents, Joe and Carol at Reigate Beaumont had always wanted to return to Brighton & Hove Greyhound Stadium, so staff at the home made their wish a reality. We learned of their love of greyhounds and their connection to Brighton & Hove Greyhound Stadium as they had raced many greyhounds there. Joe’s favourite greyhound, RoughBeech Billy had won over 20 races and holds many special memories for them there. Joe and Carol were joined by their son Mark and he was very moved for making this trip possible. When arriving at the stadium, Joe commented that he had never in a million years thought he would be able to go back to Brighton & Hove, watching the races and just reliving the experience again. He loved the outing!

Baking Club with Head Chef
Is jam before cream or cream before jam? This was our hot afternoon tea debate as residents here at the Reigate Beaumont made a fresh batch of scones with our Head Chef Roman. The great scone debate may not have been settled but residents really enjoyed their cup of tea later on in the afternoon whilst eating scones. There is always something exciting going on in the kitchen and when baking club comes around, residents are always curious to see what they are making next. At the club, residents are able to enjoy a pastime that they would have enjoyed when still living at home. It is rewarding to be able for them to still continue enjoying activities such as these.

Picnics & Outings
Not only do our residents enjoy going on outings and having a lovely picnic but it is also the perfect time for staff and residents to get to know one another even better! There’s just something about being outdoors enjoying a delicious picnic prepared by our Head Chef Roman. The basket is full of savoury muffins, finger sandwiches and cake slices alongside a lovely cup of tea or coffee. The conversation is always good and we often learn new things about one another which is really engaging. On the trip back to the care home, there is always a keen interest in ‘I wonder where we will go to next’.

Summer BBQ
What a fantastic afternoon we had here at Reigate Beaumont! We were thrilled to host our annual big event with a summer BBQ for all our wonderful residents and friends in our glorious gardens. The event was also open to the community and it was lovely to meet so many people. The kids were so excited to see a real tractor and goats, a special visit by the Reigate and Banstead Beat (Surrey Police), Surrey Fire and Rescue Service, a slip n slide, toddler paddling pool, decadent Summer Sundaes ice cream and Kingswood Shetlands & Friends - Community Interest Not for Profit. Burgers, hotdogs and refreshments were enjoyed by everyone.

Garden Ambassador
Tony, is our resident bingo caller and Garden Ambassador at Reigate Beaumont. He is excited about his role and is passionate about gardening and sharing his expertise with fellow residents and their relatives. When he’s not feeding the birds or watering the patio gardens you can find him socialising with residents or hosting our weekly bingo on a Sunday morning. Tony was also a musician in the past and played the drums in a band. Whenever there are musicians entertaining our residents, either guitarists or singers, Tony can be found accompanying them with his percussion instruments.
