Meet our Activities Coordinator, Lauren Thomas
My main responsibility is to provide a varied and engaging activities schedule every day for our residents to keep them involved in social and uplifting activities. We also love to celebrate national days, birthdays and special occasions with big events.
Activities at Reigate Beaumont
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising and delivering a fun mix of activities and events chosen by the residents here at Reigate Beaumont. We work closely with the local community who get involved in all kinds of activities within the home. We enjoy all kinds of events which could be anything from trips out to local places of interest in our minibus or visits from entertainers and musicians, spending time in our beautiful gardens, or providing great activities for the mind body and soul. We liaise with local churches and regularly hold multi-congregational services at the home.
It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and invite them to our regular events. We also have a variety of volunteers who really enjoy spending time within the home too.
Life at Reigate Beaumont Care Home
Our residents have been having a lot of fun with our new entertainment tables this month and having mini football tournaments, which they all enjoyed.
Virtual Church Service
Residents were delighted to be reconnected with their local vicar this month with a virtual church service.
We held an Oktoberfest celebration this month, which was thoroughly enjoyed with German beer, traditional national food and a cultural quiz!
Virtual Dog Show
Family and friends of our residents sent in lovely pictures of their dogs for our virtual dog show! Residents enjoyed judging the dogs in a variety of categories.
Residents here at Reigate have been making use of the beautiful grounds that surround the home with socially distanced group walks.
Residents enjoyed a coffee morning with lots of tasty treats and games. We raised £210 for Macmillan Cancer Support with the help of residents, staff and loved ones.
Continuing Life Enrichment
During this unprecedented time, we have a number of measures in place to ensure residents remain engaged, connected and socially active.
Our pet therapy dog, Rosie, will be joining us every month. Please feel free to come along and meet her!
We have a beautician who stops by once a month to help people take care of their nails.
We have a hairdresser who stops by twice a week.
We enjoy regular trips out on our minibus - everyone is welcome!
Don't Dine Alone
We know that meal times can be a lonely time for some elderly people, so join us for a meal!
