Meet our Activities Coordinator, Tina Green
I am dedicated to offering residents a range of games and activities throughout the day, for those who wish to take part as well as those who may need a little encouragement. I also take the residents out on regular trips on our minibus. I love people, so working with residents gives me great joy and is lots of fun - it is the most rewarding job I have ever had.
Activities at Reigate Beaumont
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising and delivering a fun mix of activities and events chosen by the residents here at Reigate Beaumont. We work closely with the local community who get involved in all kinds of activities within the home. We enjoy all kinds of events which could be anything from trips out to local places of interest in our minibus or visits from entertainers and musicians, spending time in our beautiful gardens, or providing great activities for the mind body and soul. We liaise with local churches and regularly hold multi-congregational services at the home.
It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and invite them to our regular events. We also have a variety of volunteers who really enjoy spending time within the home too.
Life at Reigate Beaumont Care Home
We hosted an afternoon birthday tea party for 3 three of our residents who share their birthdays. Everyone had lots of fun!
100th Birthday Celebrations
These were taken when one of our residents celebrated her 100th birthday in our gardens. The carers have set up a lovely celebration for her, which was enjoyed by many fellow residents, all adhering to social distancing guidelines, of course.
VE Day Celebrations
Residents and staff had lots of fun celebrating VE Day here at Reigate Beaumont.
Out for a Walk
Residents have been enjoying socially distanced walks in the grounds recently due to the nice weather.
Hazel enjoyed playing the piano in our main lounge wearing a protective mask. Despite all that is going on around us, the residents keep their spirits up and keep doing what they enjoy while also bringing pleasure to others (within an ear shot).
We have started a pen pal scheme between our residents and pupils from a local school. They have sent us pictures & short letters and the residents will be replying to them in the next few days.
Continuing Life Enrichment
During this unprecedented time, we have a number of measures in place to ensure residents remain engaged, connected and socially active.
Our pet therapy dog, Rosie, will be joining us every month. Please feel free to come along and meet her!
We have a beautician who stops by once a month to help people take care of their nails.
We have a hairdresser who stops by twice a week.
We enjoy regular trips out on our minibus - everyone is welcome!
Don't Dine Alone
We know that meal times can be a lonely time for some elderly people, so join us for a meal!
