Meet our Activities Coordinator, Beth Coram
My main responsibility is to provide a varied and engaging activities schedule every day for our residents to keep them involved in social and uplifting activities. We also love to celebrate national days, birthdays and special occasions with big events.
Activities at Reigate Beaumont
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising and delivering a fun mix of activities and events chosen by the residents here at Reigate Beaumont. We work closely with the local community who get involved in all kinds of activities within the home. We enjoy all kinds of events which could be anything from trips out to local places of interest in our minibus or visits from entertainers and musicians, spending time in our beautiful gardens, or providing great activities for the mind body and soul. We liaise with local churches and regularly hold multi-congregational services at the home.
It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and invite them to our regular events. We also have a variety of volunteers who really enjoy spending time within the home too.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Reigate Beaumont Care Home
Residents had lots of fun organising flowers for display around the home.
Keeping residents minds and bodies active is a key part of our daily programme here et Reigate Beaumont. This month, we have held a Scrabble tournament and tried some new card and dice games. Residents have had great fun!
Reminiscence therapy is an integral part of our activities programme. We run regular group Music & Movement sessions using old favourite tunes with props and quizzes. Beth and Jola also provide individual reminiscence sessions in residents’ rooms.
Residents had great fun using the beautiful flowers and plants from our grounds to create table displays for their own rooms and the communal dining rooms. Some ladies also braved the windy weather to do some gardening outside!
All the fathers were given a parcel of goodies to celebrate Father's Day! We met for a quiz and social before lunch. Residents recounted stories of their own fathers and their own experiences of being a dad too.
Royal Ascot Week
Reigate Beaumont celebrated Royal Ascot week with many different activities, including an afternoon at the races, a giant horse racing game and making fascinators for Ladies Day, all accompanied by mocktails and cocktails!
Our pet therapy dog, Rosie, will be joining us every month. Please feel free to come along and meet her!
