What our families say on carehome.co.uk

"The staff at the Beaumont were superb at caring for my father in his last couple of months. The medical and nursing staff were very attentive to his physical and mental needs and ensured he was very comfortable during his last few days."

"The home has always been excellent, with great carers and nursing staff. Last week it was my wife's birthday and despite her mobility and communication difficulties the staff gave her a lovely cake, which we the relatives also enjoyed and we had a small party which she very much enjoyed. I can certainly recommend Reigate Beaumont as an excellent nursing home."

"My father is a resident at this wonderful care home. He's lived here for 2 years, initially with my mother. The care he receives is absolutely exceptional, from all the staff. They are so incredibly kind and caring. He has a wide variety of activities to entertain him, from choir practice to excursions to the local area. The food is wonderful they cater to his gluten-free dietary requirements. I am so grateful that we found such an amazing home for him to live in and know that he is happy and settled here. I can't thank the manager and all the rest of the staff enough!"

"Absolutely in awe of all the staff here. Acting as my aunt's LPA, residential care was new to me. Reigate Beaumont has not only physically cared for my aunt during the last 6 months, but they’ve also supported me on the difficult journey of being responsible for a mentally competent, elderly relative who is no longer physically able to look after herself. Similarly, the whole team have been incredibly kind, patient and understanding as my aunt, who is strongly resistant to being in care and to change, (slowly and very grumpily!) adjusts to a new way of living so late in life. I haven’t rated activities as currently, my aunt won’t participate in the lots on offer. Likewise, I’ve not rated value for money as I have no previous comparisons but I have no complaints and feel my aunt's continuing care here is money very well spent."

"I have had a wonderful time volunteering at Reigate Beaumont and have gained a lot of experience through running musical sessions and sing-a-longs for the residents. Working with the staff, I have noticed everyone is so lovely and gets on well with one another. Grounds are truly impressive, we have held huge events here such as the 'Family Fun Day' in the summer. Would recommend this place and its wonderful team!"

"This home has offered wonderful support and care which has enabled my parents to remain together. They are very elderly and have health issues, all the staff treat them with respect and care, giving two one-time fiercely independent people a dignified life."

"Our mother has been a resident at The Beaumont for nearly a year, and having initially been reluctant to live permanently in any home, she was made to feel very welcome and has settled in well. Without exception, the staff are wonderful - very attentive, responsive, caring and always professional. The spacious gardens and grounds are beautifully maintained and provide a wonderful setting for various activities, including an Easter egg hunt, barbecue and various garden parties and celebrations. Mum loves all the many activities, including various musical events, flower arranging, quizzes, Pilates, visits from local school children, a pat dog, a Shetland pony and most recently, a fashion show! Mum’s birthday was very special - she was presented with a huge, delicious cake, and her room was decorated with balloons and banners. The food is excellent - with a good choice and regular tasting events. The Beaumont gives us daughters great peace of mind that Mum is being well cared for."

"My husband has stayed at Barchester Reigate Beaumont for respite several times over the last two years. When it came to choosing where to stay permanently Reigate Beaumont was the only place my husband wanted to live. The staff are all friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The level of care given is outstanding. All staff are willing to stop and have a chat with the residents and visitors alike. Everyone is made to feel part of the 'family Beaumont.' There is a lovely happy, calm atmosphere throughout the home. There is an excellent and varied choice of food which is chosen by the residents from a daily menu brought to their room. Refreshments are available all day. There is an outstanding entertainment programme offering a varied selection. All residents are encouraged by staff to join in. There are plenty of cosy areas to meet and have a chat, including a beautiful garden. This home comes highly recommended."

"My mother initially stayed at Beaumont for respite care after a fall and a short stay in the hospital. Beaumont was very helpful from the outset in helping us at very short notice. First impressions were very encouraging, and Mum settled in very quickly, She soon decided to make her stay permanent, despite the understandable reservations around such a big decision. The care and attention from all the staff is absolutely first class, nothing seems too much trouble. The atmosphere is excellent, and it's always a pleasure to visit. We couldn't recommend Beaumont more highly."

"Excellent caring service with an interesting, stimulating activities programme, caring friendly staff and first-class food. My father first used it for respite when we were on holiday. It was then an easy transition to move in and make it his home when his needs increased. Highly recommend it for high standards both socially and medically."

"My mother has been a resident of Reigate Beaumont for the last 5 years. Prior to admission, my mother's biggest fear was the thought of having to go into a care home. You would not think it to look at her now! She is always laughing and smiling and so happy. The care and dedication of all the staff are truly amazing. They have a range of different events for residents of all abilities ranging from outings, visits from the local scout group, grammar students to volunteers coming in to sing to residents as well as musicians coming in to play. The home also has wonderful grounds for those wishing to go for a walk or there is a terrace to sit and enjoy the flowers. The kitchen staff provide lovely meals and I can highly recommend the cakes. This is a very special care home."

"My godmother spent the last year of her life at Reigate Beaumont. They were so amazing at caring for her. All of us who visited her have lovely memories of her sitting in her cosy room by the window so peacefully. They quickly understood her preferences and acted accordingly. The beautiful garden was a big bonus and she spent many hours out there in the summer and autumn. The food provided was ideal for her needs. The nursing when she became poorly was incredible. Everyone was so friendly from the receptionist to the kitchen staff to anyone you happened to meet in the corridor. Thank you all."

"My mother is well settled in Barchester Reigate Beaumont, having been resident there for a few months. The staff are very friendly, caring and attentive. It's always a pleasure to speak to them, and they will go out of their way to provide any small thing that is needed. The premises are well furnished and clean. The spacious gardens are beautiful and well maintained. There are plenty of activities on a daily basis, providing opportunities to meet other residents."

"Mum has settled in really well. The home has a lovely positive, uplifting atmosphere and everyone is so kind. The standard of care is excellent with the carers and nursing team working hard to ensure Mum has everything she needs. The food is lovely with plenty of choices. The gardens and home are well cared for and maintained to a high standard with the reception, housekeeping and laundry teams doing an amazing job as well. There are plenty of activities and things to do if Mum wants to get involved or if she just wants a quiet day, the carer team check on her frequently to make sure she's okay and offers to take her into the garden for some fresh air. A truly super home which has exceeded all our expectations."

It is so reassuring to know the Mum is being well looked after. I'm trying to get Mum to join in more. Mum's room is very small but she likes it."

"The assessment and admission process was done quickly and efficiently. Assistance was given from care to room and luggage carried. A very warm welcome was received from all the staff. The room was a good size and simply furnished with a welcome both of time and welcome pack to read. Carers settled my husband in and talked with him. Regular drinks were provided. A good choice of food was given for all meals while taken in the dining room where residents sit up to four to a table. The call button was answered promptly. The room was cleaned in regards to the manager always willing to chat to residents and relatives. We felt part of the Beaumont family. My husband will happily go again."

"My mother went into the Barchester Reigate Beaumont in September initially for respite following a fall. From the very first day, the staff helped her to recover her mobility and confidence. This was done with encouragement and gentle persuasion. The staff on her wing have been exceptional and have gone above and beyond their duties to make her life as happy as possible. She has settled at the Beaumont in a way that my family did not think would be possible. Having initially been hesitant to leave her room she is now joining in with certain activities that the Beaumont offer. This is due to the staff gently encouraging her to engage. She has enjoyed having the hairdressers and manicurist on site. The transition from her own home to the Beaumont has been made easier by the wonderful care shown by the staff."

"From the day I was just shown around until today I have found that everyone working at Reigate Beaumont consistently strive to provide professional individual focused care. The atmosphere is very friendly and relaxed while the attention to detail makes everything run smoothly. My mother has settled in well and she is helped and encouraged to live with as much independence as she is able and her face lights up when she sees her carer. The surroundings are five stars and we are extremely glad she lives in this caring home."

"We chose Beaumont Nursing Home for Nan after she had a fall and was unable to return to her residential care home. It was a difficult time for her and for all our family, from the start, the Manager and all the staff at Beaumont really did their best to make the transition as smooth as possible for Nan. They tried hard to take on board all her personal requests/needs. The rooms at Beaumont were lovely and always very clean and tidy. When she was able, Nan joined in some lovely activities with the wonderful activities coordinators and she really enjoyed them. They also do some lovely summer events and the summer dog show was enjoyed by all the family (and dogs!). The grounds at Beaumont are stunning and the food also always looked amazing. Sadly Nan passed away recently (at 101.5!) but the staff were gracious and caring until the end. I will look back on Nan's last chapter knowing that she really was in the best place possible. Thank you to all at Beaumont!"

"When looking for the right care home for my grandparents, we considered many places locally. However, this place stood out from the rest. It never failed to disappoint. Three years into her care, we couldn't recommend the staff more. They always do everything they can to help, even when my loved one suffers from Alzheimer's. Thank you, Barchester Reigate Beaumont,"

"My mother was admitted to Beaumont Reigate from hospital after she had a fall which left her with multiple fractures. She was immediately treated with kindness and respect. The nurses and carers were attentive and the GP was excellent. She had physiotherapy and despite refusing to eat, a carer patiently attempted and still attempts, to feed her. At 101 years of age, the outlook seemed bleak but she is progressing well and is taken in her padded wheelchair to any activities in the lounge that the carers feel she can attend and from which she might benefit. I would recommend this care home. The gardens surrounding it are beautiful and ALL the staff are happy and caring."

"We have been delighted with our choice of Barchester Reigate Beaumont Care Home. Dad was discharged from hospital in the midst of the Covid pandemic, which added complexity to what is already a stressful time. The whole team at Reigate Beaumont have been fantastic, from the initial administration to the care itself, medical support and the activities provided. Communication with us, as a family, has been exceptional. It is evident that staff want to provide the best experience for residents."

"My mother is a resident of the Reigate Beaumont and is very happy there. The staff have shown, particularly in the last year, just how brilliant they are with their continued dedication, support and love they show those they are looking after. My mother continues to thrive in their loving care. The many challenges faced by the Reigate Beaumont, in particular with visiting and entertaining residents, to name only two, have been met speedily and imaginatively with, as always, the residents' best interests at the core of any decisions made."

"I was extremely impressed at how the staff are managing and looking after everybody during the pandemic. Staff are always friendly, the visiting pod is very clean and all staff wear PPE to protect the residents. It is a very difficult time for everybody but the staff are so reassuring and kind to the residents and do their utmost to ensure they have comfort and contact as much as possible. Thank you all for everything you are doing."

"My brother has been at Reigate Beaumont for about 3 years. In that time, we have found the staff very caring and efficient, especially in the last year when times have been very difficult for all. The reception desk has operated as usual and is always very helpful in answering any queries or requests. I feel unhappy that the residents have been confined to their rooms for such a long time, which has hampered any exercise and been quite depressing for them. I do understand that this may have been necessary, and the ruling came from Barchester, but nevertheless, I did notice that my brother was quite withdrawn when we were eventually allowed to visit him. I do give much praise for the organising of firstly, the marquee, and then the pod which is beautifully kitted out and lovely and warm! Half an hour goes just too quickly! My brother says that he enjoys the food and the catering staff did their bit during the summer, making the most of having special teas out in the garden."

"At Reigate Beaumont my dad feels as if he lives in a country hotel. He enjoys the dining room, lounges and coffee area, which are all maintained to a high standard. The programme of activities has been excellent recently, with great ideas and with growing regard for residents’ personal interests. There is lots of fun: singing, music, quizzes and inspired activity days. He feels that he is safe, happy, respected and well cared for. He always speaks highly of the staff and how he is treated, from reception to dining room staff, nurses to care assistants. Staff are polite and caring and the whole family have noticed this when they visit. The management listens to all concerns and act on them swiftly. During the pandemic, the dedication of the staff has been remarkable. As my dad’s life challenges have grown - from using Reigate Beaumont for respite - to moving in and making it his new home, and through his own personal physical and mental challenges, Dad is very well looked after."

I was so grateful to individual carers and managers who went out of their way to make her happy and comfortable. The food was second to none. "If you are looking for a home from home for your loved one, I cannot praise the staff enough for their amazing empathetic kindness to my mother and stepfather whilst being here. Beautiful surroundings, modern and up to date home, comfortable, light and airy rooms, friendly faces, always someone to talk to if you have any queries. Nothing too much trouble. Excellent all round and would 100% recommend. Activities are available in a beautiful lounge, lovely dining facilities. Dignity and respect were given at all times."

"Mum moved into the Reigate Beaumont in June this year having suffered a heart attack. I can not recommend this home more. The care staff are so kind and thoughtful and despite my Mum saying she would never want to live in a care home she has said now that she does not want to go back to her house as she is much happier here. The nursing staff are diligent and knowledgable and keep a close eye on Mum. Mum loves her food and she says that the food at Reigate is lovely which is a true testament. I know it is difficult times and visiting mum is difficult but the staff bent over backwards to make every garden visit a happy experience. Would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at the home."

"My 84-year-old mother had been in hospital for a month before going to Reigate Beaumont and I cannot praise them enough. She has obviously been sad at not being well enough to come home but the home has managed to get her settled and happy. We have not seen her in person for over two months but with the help of the care staff, we manage to talk through Skype. The receptionist is a lovely lady who will also try to find a solution to a problem. The nurses and care providers do a wonderful job in very difficult times and I am so grateful for their care of my mum. Thank you Barchester Reigate Beaumont."

"I was always happy with the care that Mum was receiving at the Beaumont, but since the advent of Covid 19, it has been amazing. The staff are wonderful - always friendly and always there for her. She needs a soft food diet and the chef has gone out of his way to give her meals that she not only can eat, but actually looks forward to. He will ask her for feedback on her meals and has also ensured that she has a well balanced healthy diet. The grounds are beautiful and in the good weather, Mum enjoys being able to sit on the terrace. Mum initially went to the Beaumont for respite and decided to stay - I am so pleased. It gives me peace of mind to know she is safe and well looked after."

"I was concerned about my mother finally entering a home, but I need not have worried! I am so glad we chose Reigate Beaumont. The staff give really excellent care and as a result, she settled in really quickly. The home has a really friendly feel to it, which you notice as soon as you enter. There is always an interesting and varied menu on offer, and cleanliness is second to none. The grounds are fantastic. The onset of coronavirus has of course been of huge concern, but has been lessened by being able to video call Mum as often as I wish. Regular up-dates being given in the form of newsletters from both the home/group as a whole. I wouldn't hesitate to thoroughly recommend it."

"My father has been happy and content at Barchester Reigate. His room is ideal (with an excellent view), he loves the garden (which is beautifully maintained) and walking in the huge garden is one of his great pleasures in life. He says the food is first-class and always plentiful. Perhaps most importantly, the care and nursing service is generally excellent, putting our minds at rest that he is being well cared for in all respects."

"This care home is amazing, my mum is looked after so well. The carers are lovely and extremely attentive to Mums wishes and needs. The care home manager runs it extremely well and is extremely approachable. She knows every resident's name and is always willing to help in any way she can if needed. Mum is very happy here, and the grounds are outstandingly beautiful. The nurses are always on top of things and will always contact a doctor, should it be needed, at the earliest opportunity - no time is wasted. The residents can treat this home like it is there own, and can do as they please, and as much or as little as they wish. I 100% recommend this care home for anyone looking for residential care for their loved ones."

"My Mother has been a resident for just over two years and is very happy in the Reigate Beaumont. The management and staff are truly amazing, treating my Mother with dignity and loving care. Staff are quick to notice a change in her health and get her medication adjusted quickly. In the current Covid19 situation the home was very quick in closing to visitors and have all the PPEs they need. I receive regular updates from them on how they are tackling the situation as well as updates on life in the home. I have full confidence in the home and know that my Mother is being very well looked after during these difficult times. The gardens at the home are beautiful and a source of great pleasure to my Mother."

"Beautifully maintained residence and gardens. Excellent care and attention to detail. I am continually impressed with all of the staff, both those I know directly and those who attend my Aunt. When my Aunt (95) took up residency, she was virtually immobile, thin, depressed, confused and did not bother too much about her personal care. Within weeks, she was moving about independently with a walking aid, enjoying her food, talking to other residents, having her hair washed and attended to and started to take an interest in what she wore. Months down the line, she has survived Covid-19 due entirely to the standard of care and the precautions set up and carried out in the home. Aunty is enjoying the gardens now and when weather permits she sits outside, keeping social distance, for a short while every day. She tells me ‘I am very content’, and I feel quite emotional that she is where she is at this time of her life and we have made the best decision for her."

"Impressed, at present, I am a temporary resident but having fallen off a wall and broken my right arm I am seriously thinking of becoming permanent (I will be 100 in 3 months' time). The carers here (those I've met) are wonderful, they do anything for you, the other staff (again the few I've met) again, these remarks apply - especially to the head chef (I have to have a special lunch) - whose lunches I really look forward to."

"My mother is a resident and turned 90 in September. The home kindly agreed to host a family function, including a very pleasant lunch, which was a great success. My wife and I travelled from Australia to attend and our eldest son made the journey from Canada with his daughter - my Mother's Great Grand Daughter. The staff were exceptional and provided a superb cake to mark the occasion. All of the family were extremely grateful for the personal touch that the staff provided on that special day, and indeed, consistently provide to the residents."

"When we were looking for a place for our aunt, for respite care which we vaguely hoped would become a longer stay. Our first impressions were very good. Friendly staff, clean, range of activities, good menu, beautiful grounds. Our longer experience has not disappointed. To our surprise and pleasure our aunt, who had been reluctant to leave her home and neighbours, was very quickly saying that she had not a bad word to say about the home. This has become even more positive now, and she very readily, after a few weeks, agreed to make the stay permanent. She has made a number of friends and looks more relaxed than we have seen her in a long time."

"Although I consider myself a little too young for a care home, I had to seek care due to being a full-time wheelchair user who had to undergo a shoulder operation. I was unable to use my shoulder for 12 weeks. After my NHS funded care package ran out I had to fund my own care and the Reigate Beaumont was recommended. I'm so glad I moved from the NHS funded home. I found it a very pleasant environment to be in. The staff were excellent, very courteous, helpful and attentive. The food was very very good and well presented. The place was clean and tidy always. The grounds were extensive and wonderful to look out on even in March. I enjoyed exploring the grounds in my electric chair. I stayed a total of six weeks until I was well enough to get back to using my manual wheelchair. The staff here made my time seem to go a lot quicker and I thank everyone at the Beaumont for aiding me with my recovery."

"Very nice nursing home and the nursing side is excellent. Management easy to talk to discuss any concerns. Food OK but when served in the room, was cold! Maintenance seemed to be a problem and when needed was told no one could come - a light had gone in and ensuite is a H+S issue and should have been addressed and not left for 4 days!"

"Mum had a respite stay at Reigate Beaumont over Christmas 2018. This was her first stay at a care home and despite initial reservations, she had a fabulous time. She enjoyed the food, said the staff were all very friendly and there were plenty of activities to keep her occupied. When I went to collect mum I found her well rested and happy. Mum has said she isn't quite ready to give up her bungalow just yet. But when she is, she wants to become a full-time resident at Reigate Beaumont. Thanks for taking good care of her."

"I just wanted to send a message to say how thrilled I was when I went to visit my aunt last week, she seemed so content and happy. When I arrived, she was having her hair done and was laughing and joking with the lady that was doing her hair. The grounds were stunning even with the cold bad weather and the staff were attentive and lovely. I am so happy that she is there."

"I have been so impressed with the Reigate Beaumont care home since Mum moved in. The Manageress is friendly, helpful, professional, super efficient and always has an open door, giving that extra reassurance. I am so grateful to her for accommodating Mum's needs and I feel that Mum's general wellbeing has greatly improved since she became a resident here. The staff are wonderful. They are friendly, efficient and nothing is too much trouble. The atmosphere is always relaxed and welcoming. I would have no hesitation in recommending Reigate Beaumont."

"My week's stay was just what I needed after a back operation. I have a comfortable room and the staff were wonderfully kind. I was able to do everything for myself but it was a great comfort to know that the help was there. The food was excellent and just the right portion sizes, all delicious and a varied menu. My relaxing stay has helped tremendously with my ongoing recovery, for which I say, many thanks to all of you."

"My stepmother has been at the Reigate Beaumont for a year now. I chose this home because of its lovely staff, the general ambience inside, well-presented rooms and stunning terrace and grounds. I knew that we would need end of life care and this is offered by this home. I have been so pleased with all the wonderful care. The carers and the nurses are second to none. Today I was at the home and a nurse, who has been so very supportive to my stepmother, asked me (and not for the first time) how I felt in myself through this difficult time. I cannot thank her, and all the rest of the team, enough for their extreme kindness. There is so much to praise about the whole team, from the Activities Organiser, kitchen staff, receptionist to the manager, who are all doing their utmost best to help in every way they can. Most of all, the carers and nurses who are so thoughtful and kind at a very difficult time - offering professional, practical and heartwarming care."

"Reigate Beaumont is exceptional in many ways with a welcome reception. Carers are helpful when required and respond immediately due to first class training. Cleanliness in all aspects excellent. Presentation in the dining room is again first class with a selection of excellent food and the chef interacts with residents which is much appreciated. Activities are again outstanding with many things to take part in. All staff so friendly."

"My Mum stayed at Beaumont for 10 days respite while we went away on holiday. I was so concerned about leaving her but I should never have worried! The care she received was top class, the staff couldn't have been nicer! She was given food that she liked even though it wasn't always necessarily on the menu. She was encouraged to join in the activities and although she wouldn't always join in she was asked every time. My daughter and Brother visited while we were away and they were so pleased that she was happy and content each time they turned up. I want to say a massive thank you to all the staff - each and every 1 was so lovely and I imagine it isn't the easiest job in the world! Thank you!"

"We cannot recommend the Reigate Beaumont highly enough. It is expertly run by a superb Manager who is not only charming, friendly and super efficient but from the very first visit, you can see that she is greatly respected and admired by all those making up her team at Beaumont, as well as the residents and their families. Residents are made to feel extremely welcome by every member of staff; from the care, nursing and catering teams, to entertainments etc, nothing was ever too much trouble. Indeed we were extraordinarily grateful to the manager for going to enormous lengths, to accommodate Mother's difficult dietary and other needs. The food was excellent, very high-quality ingredients, all very nicely presented in a beautiful dining room, making a friendly and enjoyable experience. On the morning our Mother passed away, again, this wonderful team at Beaumont made a horrible experience more bearable by their kindness, consideration and compassion. Our heartfelt thanks to you all."

"Beaumont is a gem of a care home, my wife is on a short respite break and often seems 'allergic' to such places, but she loves this one! Staff are good humoured, very kind and the home is beautifully maintained with breathtaking gardens. The family are delighted that mum has found a room here among such caring, professional people. All I can add is, when the day arrives for me to leave home, I can think of a nicer place to relax in. Quite brilliant."

"Initially, I found it a little difficult to understand one or two members of staff but we soon got to understand each other. With the majority though, we got on together quickly and well. The comment below for 'Facilities' is because I had to go some distance to find a shower - however, there are worse things in life. The comment on 'Safety/Security' relates to leaving my wallet there while I was having a shower. Otherwise - top class."

"I would 100% recommend Reigate Beaumont. After three major operations, nine months, a multitude of complications and six returns to hospital, Dad was really struggling to get better. But, after three weeks in the Beaumont, he has definitely done just that. On August 2nd I took Dad in as a fragile, confused and struggling 85 year old (who looked and felt every year of his age). We were not sure where/how he was going to end up. On August 20th, I am now picking him up as a stronger, lucid and positive 85 year old (who looks 10 years younger). We are now ready for a return to his own flat... and then, back to 'normal life'. I cannot thank you enough. The medical care, the attentive staff, the quality of food, the daily entertainment, the cleanliness and the beautiful setting are first class. You have become a big part of mine and Dad's life in the past three weeks and we are going to miss you all. We will never, ever forget you. You have made Dad feel content, at ease, relaxed and safe. Thank you."

Since I have Parkinson's disease the timing of daily routine is highly important. I am one of 55 residents here and sometimes the schedule falls apart. It was not altogether satisfactory as they had poor facilities for toilet arrangements, I had six years there but needed more care with the toilet etc. so I decided to move.
