Activities at Reigate Beaumont Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising and delivering a fun mix of activities and events chosen by the residents here at Reigate Beaumont. We work closely with the local community who get involved in all kinds of activities within the home. We enjoy all kinds of events which could be anything from trips out to local places of interest in our minibus or visits from entertainers and musicians, spending time in our beautiful gardens, or providing great activities for the mind body and soul. We liaise with local churches and regularly hold multi-congregational services at the home.

It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and invite them to our regular events. We also have a variety of volunteers who really enjoy spending time within the home too.

Jamie Ward

Jamie Ward

Activities Coordinator

My name is Jamie, though I prefer to go by Jay.

I’ve been working in Activities and Wellbeing for almost 12 years, and I truly take pride in making a positive difference in people’s lives — even if it’s simply through a smile. I’m a compassionate person with a lot of love and care to give, which inspires me every day to focus on the wellbeing and happiness of the residents I support.

A little about me personally — I’m a huge Disney fan (some might say too big a fan!), a vocalist, an avid reader, a gamer, and I love ice skating. I’m excited to continue giving my best to the residents and families here, helping to make every day as joyful and meaningful as possible.

Celebrating life at Reigate Beaumont Care Home

Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year at Reigate Beaumont! We had a wonderful time celebrating Chinese New Year here at the home, led by our Senior Carers, Lisa & Penny.

Lisa shared this heartfelt reflection:"The idea of holding a Chinese New Year celebration for residents at Reigate Beaumont is about so much more than a joyful gathering. It is a warm and gentle cultural encounter. We hope to share the happiness, reunion, and best wishes of the Chinese New Year with all residents in the most heartfelt way, allowing them to experience the beauty and kindness of Eastern traditions through songs, laughter, and customs.

This is not only a way to promote traditional Chinese culture, but also an opportunity to bridge different cultural backgrounds with sincere care. Love and understanding go beyond language and borders. Above all, it is a reminder that the true meaning of festivals is always togetherness and compassion."

We are so pleased and honoured to have shared this very special moment together.

Music in the air

Music in the air

There was music in the air at Reigate Beaumont as Jon McDevitt visited to entertain our residents with his wonderful guitar skills and vocals. He treated everyone to a selection of much-loved classics, from Frank Sinatra to Elvis Presley.

Brenda, one of our residents, commented, “He is superb, I always enjoy coming to watch Jon.”

The lounge was filled with singing, laughter, and joy, making it a truly uplifting morning for everyone who attended.

Christmas party

Christmas party

Christmas was truly in the air at our Resident, Family and Friends’ Christmas Party.

Our fantastic DJ, Jimmy, set the perfect atmosphere with a mix of Christmas classics and much-loved old-school favourites.  We were also delighted to welcome Deputy Mayor Zelanie, who joined wholeheartedly in the celebrations—dancing with residents and spending time with everyone, much to their delight.

A heartfelt thank-you to all our staff for creating such a joyful event and making it a memorable occasion for our residents and their families.

Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day

We travelled back in time to the War era with Grace Gardner as she performed a beautiful selection of songs for Remembrance.

Dressed perfectly for the occasion and with her voice on point, she created a wonderful atmosphere. Our residents definitely had a great time singing along and dancing.

We now can't wait for her Christmas show next month!

A Touch Of Theatre Magic

Animal therapy

Here at Reigate Beaumont, we were joined by some wonderful animals, from guinea pigs and rabbits to a dog and a cat. The residents had an amazing time cuddling and petting these beautiful animals. It was a truly heart-warming experience for everyone involved.

One resident Brenda took one look at the cat and said "She is beautiful, I love cats so much".

Penny's Show and Tell

Penny's Show and Tell

We had a lovely Show and Tell session with our residents who shared all their wartime memorabilia.
There were lots of smiles, memories shared, and wonderful conversations as everyone enjoyed talking about familiar items and the stories behind them. Activities like this are a great way to encourage connection, spark memories, and simply enjoy time together.

Thank you to all our residents for sharing—you made the session very special.

Pony visit

Pony visit

We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Hayley from Pony Preschool along with her gorgeous Shetland pony, Marshmallow.

Our residents loved getting up close with Marshmallow—petting her, giving her a brush, and enjoying her gentle nature. The smiles and interaction were a delight to see. What a treat!

Bonfire Night

A Bang-tastic evening was had here at Reigate Beaumont on the 7th November!

Thanks to John our amazing Maintenance who did such an amazing Firework Display for our residents.
We were joined by the Local Scouts and Our Local Deputy Mayor Zelanie. Which was a pleasure to welcome.

Thanks to our wonderful Kitchen staff who never disappoint. The hot dogs and cakes were absolutely Rocketing.

We hope all who attended had a blast!

Art Work from Micklefield School

Art Work from Micklefield School

A huge thank you to the incredibly talented Year 6 art students from Micklefield School in Reigate!

The children recently visited Reigate Beaumont to meet our residents, take photos, and ask what they would love to see captured in artwork. With such care and creativity, the students then worked together to bring these ideas to life in two beautiful paintings.  Our residents were absolutely delighted to see their ideas transformed into such colourful and thoughtful pieces. It was a wonderful way to connect across generations, and we are so grateful for the joy and creativity the pupils have shared with us.

Winter Olympics

Winter Olympics

The 2026 Winter Olympic Games took off in Reigate Beaumont!

The torch is lit, the atmosphere is electric, and everyone is buzzing with excitement to watch the games and see who takes home the gold.

We created a video passing the Olympic torch to one another and everyone had such a wonderful time.

Yellow brick theatre

We were delighted to welcome the Yellow Brick Theatre Company, who treated us to a fantastic Christmas pantomime. Our residents had a wonderful time laughing along and thoroughly enjoyed the performance, which has certainly helped to build excitement as we look forward to the festive season.

Operatic Music

Operatic Music

We had the pleasure of welcoming the amazing Demelza, who performed for our residents.

Her operatic renditions were truly outstanding — unmatched in their beauty — and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone here at the home. Opera is a specialised type of vocal, and when done with such passion as Demelza gives, it brings plenty a tear to your eyes.

Everyone can’t wait until she returns in December.

Diwali at Reigate Beaumont

Diwali at Reigate Beaumont

Dipavali, commonly known as Diwali, is the Hindu festival of lights. The "Festival of Lights," a five-day celebration for Hindus, Jains, and Sikhs symbolizing the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.

Today we had a very special treat from some of our wonderful staff members here at the home, led by Mira. We all got the honour of being part of this Ancient tradition. We got treated to Traditional Dancing and Music. All enjoying learning the dances and having many laughs and smiles.

At Reigate Beaumont we love to celebrate a variety of different cultures and backgrounds.
