Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Orchard House Care Home
Cheese and Wine Afternoon
Orchard House Care Home hosted a delightful Cheese and Wine afternoon, which was met with enthusiasm and joy by the residents. The event featured a selection of fine cheeses and wines, providing a sophisticated and enjoyable experience for all attendees. The residents had the opportunity to sample a variety of high-quality cheeses paired with exquisite wines, making for a truly memorable afternoon. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and conversation, highlighting the strong sense of community within the care home. The success of the event was evident, as many residents expressed their desire to have it repeated in August. The combination of good company, delicious cheese, and excellent wine proved to be a winning formula for a wonderful time.
A Magical Day at Orchard House Care Home with David Randini
The residents of Orchard House Care Home were treated to a truly magical experience with a visit from the renowned magician, David Randini!
The event was filled with awe and wonder as David Randini captivated the audience with his incredible tricks and illusions. Residents and staff alike were mesmerised by his performance, which brought smiles and laughter to everyone in attendance.
Cheese and Wine afternoon
Here at Orchard House our residents have enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of tasting a variety of selected cheeses and wines; from mature cheddar right through to speciality strong cheeses.
It was made even more enjoyable with some delicious tasting wine to wash it all down with.
The event was so successful that the residents requested we repeat it as much as possible.
What more do you need than good company and a good wine!
Puzzling Times
Here at Orchard House, our residents enjoy nothing more than a puzzle. Puzzles are a great way to test your concentration and attention but also allow hours to pass without even realising. The end result is not only one of a great picture but huge achievement of placing the pieces together, whether its a 500pc or more, it takes a lot of skill and patience to complete. Well done to our resident puzzlers!
Orchard House Summer Fun
Residents and staff took to the gardens at Orchard House for some summer sunshine and music. There were plenty of drinks and nibbles to enjoy whilst toe tapping or even full on dancing the day away. The sunshine made the day an absolute success and made everyone smile, lots of lovely memories were made and even memorable dancing moves too!

We kicked off the week with an exciting wheelchair race, and we’re thrilled to announce our champion: David! Congratulations!
Throughout the week, it’s all about Move Minutes. Move however you please; it’s your collective ‘move minutes’ that count—not how far you get—and everyone can take part.
