Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Orchard House Care Home
National Alzheimer’s Cupcake Day
We celebrated National Alzheimer’s Cupcake Day with our dear residents. We organized a fun cupcake quiz and enjoyed delicious coffee and tea together.
Military Museum
It was a fantastic outing when the sun was shining. Orchard House residents had a great time at the Churchill cafe in the Military Museum. Our residents truly enjoyed this trip out!
Boat trip
We had an exceptional day thanks to the Wetwheels Solent C I C! Our residents had the unique opportunity to take the helm of the boat themselves, creating a lasting and incredible memory! Our heartfelt thanks go to the extraordinary boat captain, Dan, and the outstanding crew members, David and Pete, who made this experience truly unforgettable for our residents. These moments are priceless and fill our hearts with joy. We extend our sincere appreciation to the WetWheels Solent for making this remarkable experience possible!
Celebrating International Cheese and Wine Day
The event was a resounding success, and we owe a heartfelt gratitude to The Isle of Wight Cheese Company, whose generous sponsorship made the event possible.
The Isle of Wight Cheese Company, renowned for their commitment to quality and craftsmanship, provided an exquisite selection of handmade cheeses that tantalized the taste buds of all attendees. Each cheese offered a unique and unforgettable flavor experience, leaving everyone in awe of their culinary expertise.

Our talented and creative residents have painted some beautiful rocks
We’ll be hiding these artistic gems on our lovely island, carefully placed in popular locations for you to discover. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find these hidden rocks and bring them to us!
When you find one of our rocks, simply show it to our friendly staff, and you'll receive a special Barchester Orchard House gift as a token of our appreciation. It's our way of saying thank you for being part of our wonderful community.

Hello Wimbledon! Hello Orchard House Residents!
We had an amazing time as our lovely residents gathered together to watch the exhilarating tennis action! The atmosphere was electric, and the cheers echoed throughout Orchard House.
To make the experience even sweeter, we indulged in delicious cream and strawberries, the perfect accompaniment to this iconic sporting event. The combination of the refreshing strawberries and the creamy goodness made for a delightful treat that everyone enjoyed.
It was heartwarming to see our residents come together, bonding over their shared love for tennis and enjoying each other's company. Moments like these remind us of the strong sense of community that makes Orchard House such a special place to call home.
