Activities at Ochil Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Ochil Care Home

Motivation Monday

Some monday motivation for everyone ....   Today we tried something a little different, we asked everyone what their advice would be for everyone coming into 2022.   “Kindness begins with understanding that we all struggle”. Always be kind to everyone around you

Christmas raffle

Our Christmas raffle was drawn today with lots of staff and residents winning prizes. Majority of the winners seemed to be coming from staff and residents within our Memory lane unit they were definitely on a lucky streak today anyways. Bill was also in luck winning 4 prizes 2 of which was gin so he was happy with that.

Well done to everyone who won prizes and thankyou to everyone bought raffle tickets and donated gifts for us. We raised £161 to go into our residents activity fund which will help keep us busy and entertained in the new year.

Christmas crafts

Always lots going on in the lead upto Christmas, here is some of our Christmas crafts we’ve been creating over the festive period.

We have our painted decorations on our tree upstairs and Molly has put hers in her new tree in her room to. We have lots coming up to look forward to over the next few weeks, we are going to Perth theatre on Saturday to see Cinderella the pantomime and we can’t wait.

Festive cocktails

We created our own cocktail trolley and hosted a cocktail making class today. As you can see this was a fun afternoon for everyone who came along, most of them has never had a cocktail before so these went down a treat.

Christmas party

We had an amazing Christmas party today, we had lots of new faces that have joined us over the year who came along and we shown them how much fun we can have at our parties.  Our Santa themed fruit skewers were definitely a favourite for all our residents today. We were singing and dancing along to Christmas songs, playing some Christmas games and Maebel won sticking the nose on Rudolph.

Magic of the Nutcracker

We experienced the magic of the Nutcracker with a special interactive workshop led by English National Ballet Associate Artists.

Our residents were able to take a magical journey thorough Edwardian London and to learn more about the enchanted Nutcracker characters: Clara, the Mouse King, and her valiant Nutcracker doll.

The session included a chair-based dance workshop, clips of the ballet on stage and a Christmas carol sing-along, truly enjoyed by all.
