Activities at Ochil Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Hi, I’m Patrycja and am very excited to be a part of the amazing team at Ochil.
I have been working as an Activities Co-ordinator for the last 2 years, always making sure that the programme of activities and events provide a source of fun and laughter and helps each resident to live their life to the full. Please do feel free to come and be part of it with your loved ones

Life at Ochil Care Home
Winter Wonderland photoshoot
Everyone at Ochil enjoy a very special and fun afternoon as we created our very own Winter Wonderland photo shoot with photos being captured and shared with loved ones.
Residents thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, and said it was quite magical being made to feel like a million dollars.
Elf the 'Boss Day'
Residents at Ochil recently enjoyed an ‘Elf’ day as the festivities begin at the home.
Residents were treated to a lovely surprise, as colleagues organised an elf – the boss day - to kick start this year’s festivities. The elf day created a lot of fun and laughter in the home, with residents and colleague’s alike dressing up in elf costumes and getting their photo took with a giant elf cut out.
Also a visit from our Regional Director Wendy McGowan who was happy to join in!
Big Quiz of the Year
All over the country our care homes and hospitals linked up for Barchester’s Big Quiz of the year!
Residents tested their knowledge with a variety of questions, from historical humdingers and musical musings to pictorial puzzlers and connective conundrums.
Everyone who participated had a fantastic time and enjoyed some friendly competition.
Meeting the Reindeers
Across our homes we got into the Christmas spirit of things by joining a festive live virtual experience, led by Des and Kelly from Performing Pets.
Our residents were thrilled to meet the charming furry friends and get up close and personal with the reindeers.
We certainly learnt some interesting facts about the animals and had a fantastic time.
Inside Mayfair
Residents across our services had a fantastic time joining Mandy Morrow for a virtual walking tour to learn about the ‘Herstory’ of Mayfair. The Mayfair of Nightingales may be long gone but it still holds a 20th century charm. Birthplace to the late Queen Elizabeth II, home to one of WWII's most decorated female war heroes and a tale of a wealthy Aristocrat and one of France's favourite designers.
We were delighted to take a walk down memory lane and discover stories from one of London's most iconic areas. The experience was truly enjoyed by all.
Inside Wall's icecream
Residents across our homes had a fantastic time during a special live virtual event in celebration on National Ice Cream Day. Wall’s team took us on a great journey through history, sharing fascinating details about the brand since its launch in 1922. We learned about major innovations such as the introduction of Mr Whippy, Cornetto, Viennetta, Twister, and Carte d'Or.
Residents were treated to a singalong to Cornetto classic ads, an interactive quiz about fun Wall’s facts and best-of-all, an ice-cream tasting session. It was a delightful experience for everyone, especially our ice-cream lovers.
