Activities at Oak Grange Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Oak Grange Care Home

World Ocean Day
We got involved in fun-filled activities and discussions in recognition of World Ocean Day. Did you know that 71% of Earth’s surface is water, and our oceans play a vital role in our planet's ecosystem?
To mark the day, our residents learned about various ocean environments with a talk. They took part in ocean-themed quiz, and produced a lovely ocean picture to display in the home.

,Cycling Without Age
Oak Grange is very close to the countess of Chester park. What a wonderful experience our two lovely ladies had yesterday afternoon in the Cheshire countryside. The park is a beautiful place for a walk or bike ride with lots of places to stop and admire the stunning views. In connection with cycling without age they had an afternoon of feeling the wind in their hair and then a drink at the local to finish the day off. Thank you to CWA you are doing the community a fabulous service.

National Biscuit Day
It was a special day for all of us at Oak Grange in Mollington as we celebrated National Biscuit Day in style. We certainly had a fun-filled day of biscuit dunking and tasting, paired with a good old cup of tea. Our residents got involved in a biscuit tasting activity, themed quiz and a chat about all things biscuits.
Some of the residents shared a cuppa and biscuits with their families and friends in the garden. It was a lovely day, enjoyed by all.

Virtual talk with Art Historian
Residents across our services had a delightful time during a special virtual sensory storytelling event, led by Art Historian Jon Sleigh from the Historic Royal Palaces.
Jon took us on a journey to discover some of the more unusual and unexpected inhabitants of the palaces and the Tower of London, sharing fascinating stories about the pets at the palaces.
Whilst enjoying the virtual experience, our residents were treated to hot beverages, delicious biscuits, berries and cakes. It was a truly lovely time for all.

Chester Zoo - A Day to Remember
Ian spent a lovely day at the Chester Zoo celebrating a personal anniversary, the elephant house is his favourite place so he spent a long time just watching these big beautiful creatures doing their thing. The sun shone all day and with lunch out at a local restaurant it was a perfect day. As we have a whole home approach to our residents wellbeing Ian requested that Gavin, his key worker spent the day with him at the zoo, even though Gavin was on annual leave he was more than happy to spend the day with Ian.

International Museum Day
In recognition of International Museum Day, we’ve had the perfect opportunity to organise a day trip to The Museum of Liverpool.
Our residents spent time learning interesting and fun facts about museum collections and galleries, they looked at life in and around Liverpool, their football facts and enjoyed a reminiscing session, where they shared amazing stories about museums that they have visited in the past.
It was a very exciting and enjoyable day for all.
