Activities at Mulberry Court Care Home

The team at Mulberry Court works hard to support and encourage residents to participate in both group and individual activities, based around their preferences and lifestyle choices. We take time to get to know each person, sitting with them and listening to them speak about their lives, interests, and aspirations. We have access to our own minibus so outings to nearby places of interest are available; for example local museums, art galleries, garden centres, and public houses. We also host themed evenings, such as 'Quiz and Meal-in-a-Basket', 'The Races (Greyhounds, Horses)', and 'Takeaway and Movie Night' that we also encourage relatives to come to. We believe lifestyle choices and activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, and it is essential that we help residents to have fulfilling and enjoyable lives.

Life at Mulberry Court Care Home

Carers Week

Carer’s at Mulberry Court received a heartfelt thank you from everyone this week to acknowledge Carer’s week.  A huge chocolate hamper was donated by a residents relative and we distributed it amongst all our carer’s so everyone got a little treat.

Royal Ascot

Residents had a lovely afternoon at ‘Ladies Day’ as they sipped ice cold Pimm’s and indulged on chocolates and strawberries. With race cards and betting slips (just for fun) we had some exciting finishes as our residents showed their competitive sides, some luckier than others!

National Beer Day

Residents had a lovely afternoon on National Beer Day as they enjoyed a variety of beers and bitters along with bar snacks.  The sun shone very hot that day but we had the perfect place to keep our beers warm in the fountain in our gardens!

Carers week

Happy Carers Week! We would like to take this great opportunity to recognise and thank our wonderful carers here at the home.

We are proud of each and every one of our care team for the outstanding care that they provide to our residents every single day. They always go above and beyond their role and for this we are truly grateful.

National Trust talk

Our homes had a fantastic time joining National Trust Talks Service team at Cliveden House for an inspirational talk on Nancy Astor – the first woman to take a seat in the House of Commons.

Our residents had the opportunity to learn more about the fascinating life of Nancy and her political career. As the first women MP, she experienced both attention and scandal throughout her life, which led to many triumphs and numerous disasters.  The talk was truly enjoyed by all.

Celebrations fit for a Queen

Excitement has been running high at Mulberry Court in York where residents and staff have been busy making Jubilee-themed decorations and baking up a storm of red, white and blue cakes and pastries with the help of head chef Lee Starkey in preparation for the Jubilee.

Staff and residents at the home put their heads together and came up with a plan for their celebrations fit for a Queen.  Over the bank holiday weekend the home held a fabulous garden party with live entertainment including a vocalist and a bagpipes player.  The whole home came together to celebrate our longest reigning monarch and reminisce about what she means to each and every one of us.
