Activities at Mount House and Severn View

Our Activities team is a dedicated group whom strive to ensure that the residents of Mount House have a broad range of meaningful activities daily which reflect the needs, wants and interests of all our residents. From our larger events including Garden Parties in our spectacular grounds to birthday celebrations with live musical entertainment we always have a broad range of events to suit all of our wonderful residents. We also go on a number of outings throughout the year in and around Shropshire, many of which are linked to community organisations whom cater specifically for interests of the people we support.

Something we have always been passionate about here at The Mount is Music therapy and we offer a diverse musical programme of live music and entertainers throughout the year to suit all tastes. Food theme days and tasting afternoons, as well as regular Cookery classes and chair yoga are on offer as well as beauty therapy and massage.
We aim to consistently provide a high quality activities programme for all of our residents and ensure that regardless of limitations and circumstances each individual has the best possible experience within our home, through both a physical and mentally stimulating person-centred approach.

Happy Birthday 'Leslie'

What a wonderful day we had yesterday celebrating Gentleman Leslie's birthday with friends and family at Mount House.

The lounge was full of laughter, song and dance courtesy of Debbie Miles UK personality vocalist who got the birthday party going with a happy birthday song to Leslie before diving us into a rendition of the 'Hokey Cokey' and swivelling our hips and shaking our maracas to Delilah!

Thank you Debbie and everyone who joined Leslie to make his day so extra special Happy Birthday from your family and friends at Mount House & Severn View.

Shrewsbury School Connections

Our residents absolutely love meeting the students from Shrewsbury School, these talented young person’s provide not only an extra pair of hands to support any projects we may have ongoing but they offer fabulous intergenerational conversation.

Our residents enjoy recalling their childhood memories and listening to the groups stories of life as they see it today. We look forward to catching up with them again next term.

Thank you Shrewsbury School for being such wonderful ambassadors and friends of our home. We really appreciate our connection.

Gardening Time

We've been out enjoying the beautiful weather and our sun-trap of a garden, just look at the flowers and blossoms starting to spring into life to brighten the summer ahead.

Marjorie proudly displayed the home-grown seedlings to her daughter before roping her into gardening club and repotting them all for future growth. Well done ladies.

If you're interested in gardening and would like to join in with the weekly gardening club or take the next step to tending your own little patch in our garden please do give us a call. (See attached poster).
