Open Day Success
At Mount House, our most recent Open Day hosted at the end of October, had a slight twist! A murder had taken place! It was down to our lovely residents, family members and members of the community to find the culprit! There was a detective-themed lunch, a premiering of The Thursday Murder Club, a twist on the 2020 Novel by Richard Osman and then the long-awaited Whodunnit!
Truly a fantastic day, with a great theatrical performance, with The Mount’s resident Bob taking on the role of our unfortunate victim, and Michael, one of our resident’s relatives revealed as the culprit in a thrilling finale. The laughter, suspense, and detective work made it a truly unforgettable day.
Garden Party
Mount House and Severn View held our first Downton Abbey Garden party, and it was croquet on the lawn with a wonderful selection of cream cakes and sandwiches made by our chefs Liz and Josh and it was very yummy. The staff were awesome and dressed in their flapper dresses and they all looked amazing.
Residents staff and families enjoyed listening to the extremely talented young gentlemen Bob play the saxophone and who is also one of our students that comes into visit our residents weekly, it really was wonderful music and everyone was blown away by it so thank you everyone very for making it a special afternoon.

Halloween Celebrations
We have been busy at Mount House & Severn View with our pumpkin decorating, which looked amazing, and a Halloween disco with the wonderful Debbie Miles. And what a fantastic time everyone had. The residents were brilliant with their singing and the music really was spooktacular.
Everyone enjoyed a ghoulish Halloween buffet thanks to our chefs, Josh and Tristan, and it was definitely a big hit with everyone.
Country and Western Day!
Mount House and Severn View decided they wanted to do a themed event so we asked our residents what they would like, and country and western and cowboys was the big favourite so we combined them all together, and had a really great time.
Our amazing chef Liz did a fantastic menu in keeping with the theme and everyone said it was lovely. We had a country music sing-a-long and got our dancing shoes on which is always great fun and not forgetting our Photo booth made an appearance.
The residents then picked a film Calamity Jane and enjoyed tea and cake and we ended the day with everyone's favourite a good old Quiz.

106th Birthday Celebrations
Recently we celebrated Irene's 106th birthday. We had a delightful day and enjoyed a small tea party with Irene and her family.
Irene was showered with gifts and particularly cherished receiving a card from the King. Irene attributes her longevity enabling her to celebrate her 106th birthday, to her passion for dancing.
Duck hatching experience!
Well it was a lovely week at Mount House and Severn View with our duck hatching experience. Everyone has really enjoyed seeing them every day and watching them hatch and grow bigger, and gets lots of attention it has been a fantastic experience and thank you to incredible eggs for a very eggcellent week indeed.
But we have all said our goodbyes as Jemima, dinky and Hazel have now gone to their new home on a nice little farm with a very wonderful family and they will be bringing them back to see us soon and giving us weekly updates on how they are doing as they have really made a big impression on everyone here and it was a very hard goodbye, but we know they will enjoy their new home and meet new friends.
Spring Sunshine
The Mount House was enjoying the lovely sunshine and some of our residents couldn't wait to get outside and spend time in our gardens and relax in the much-needed sun that we have all been looking forward to.
We were also joined in the afternoon by students from Shrewsbury school who like to come along and visit our residents weekly and our residents always look forward to them coming to see us.
They even came along with their gardening gloves and garden tools and tied up our vegetable gardens ready for us to plant our new seeds in the gardening club, and we were all very grateful to the students for doing this for us. It was then time to all enjoy a well-earned rest with cream cakes and tea.
