Activities at Mount House and Severn View
Our Activities team is a dedicated group whom strive to ensure that the residents of Mount House have a broad range of meaningful activities daily which reflect the needs, wants and interests of all our residents. From our larger events including Garden Parties in our spectacular grounds to birthday celebrations with live musical entertainment we always have a broad range of events to suit all of our wonderful residents. We also go on a number of outings throughout the year in and around Shropshire, many of which are linked to community organisations whom cater specifically for interests of the people we support.
Something we have always been passionate about here at The Mount is Music therapy and we offer a diverse musical programme of live music and entertainers throughout the year to suit all tastes. Food theme days and tasting afternoons, as well as regular Cookery classes and chair yoga are on offer as well as beauty therapy and massage.
We aim to consistently provide a high quality activities programme for all of our residents and ensure that regardless of limitations and circumstances each individual has the best possible experience within our home, through both a physical and mentally stimulating person-centred approach.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Mount House and Severn View

Spring Sunshine
The Mount House was enjoying the lovely sunshine and some of our residents couldn't wait to get outside and spend time in our gardens and relax in the much-needed sun that we have all been looking forward to.
We were also joined in the afternoon by students from Shrewsbury school who like to come along and visit our residents weekly and our residents always look forward to them coming to see us.
They even came along with their gardening gloves and garden tools and tied up our vegetable gardens ready for us to plant our new seeds in the gardening club, and we were all very grateful to the students for doing this for us. It was then time to all enjoy a well-earned rest with cream cakes and tea.

Clay Modelling
We have been enjoying using modelling clay and some of our residents really do have an artistic flare and have made some lovely creations that look amazing, and we look forward to when we paint them in the next couple of days and getting them on display for everyone to see.
Our residents love to do many different types of activities.

Afternoon Tea
We held our weekly vintage tea afternoon and, once again, our chef, Liz, made some lovely cakes for everyone, and there was definitely a spring feel to it all.
It was lovely to see family and friends come along to join us all, and we also welcomed the lovely Catherine from the local community, who has started to come along and spend time with our residents, which they really do enjoy and look forward to too.

St Patrick's Day!
We celebrated St. Patrick's Day in true style and everyone really had a great day.
Residents enjoyed a traditional Irish menu thanks to our wonderful Head chef Liz and, of course, an Irish tipple to follow.
We were then joined in the afternoon by the talented Wayne Hinton, who got everyone up singing and dancing, and we certainly had our dancing shoes on and had a great time.
It was so lovely to see family and friends coming along and joining in with the fun.

Exercise at Mount House!
We enjoyed an exercise class with the wonderful Sheila and, as always, everyone had a great time and enjoyed taking part, even the staff.
Exercise is very important to our residents here at the Mount House and Severn View and we really like getting together and singing along to the great music Sheila plays while doing our exercises.

Valentine's Afternoon Tea!
Mount House had vintage afternoon tea in Valentine's style.
Our chef, Carly, created delicious treats for our residents and their families and everyone had a great afternoon.
