James Stubbs BA (Hons) DipHE RN(A) CMgr MCMI GCGI
General Manager
Welcome to Mount House's website; my name is James Stubbs and I am the General Manager here.
I trained with the NHS and qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1995. My first position as a newly qualified staff nurse was working on a General Surgical ward at the Alexander Hospital Redditch. Looking for a new challenge I joined the Royal Air Force as a qualified nurse in 1995. Following successful completion of basic training at RAF Halton, I was posted to Royal Hospital Haslar in Gosport.
Between 1995 and 2008 I spent time in various posts across the world delivering primary health care services, this included the Balkans, Falkland Islands, Cyprus and Iraq. I graduated as Flight Lieutenant Nursing Officer in late 2008 and from then I was posted to NATO Joint Force Command Headquarters in the Netherlands. I retired from the RAF in December 2014.
The RAF enabled me to gain a BA (Hons) in Leadership and Management as well as qualify myself in Health and Safety. I currently hold the National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health, National General Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management and a Certificate in Environmental Management.
I commenced my position as General Manager here at Mount House in 2017. I have found that a lot of my military skills have been highly transferrable and have eased my transition into adult social care. I am a highly focused and driven individual who aims to deliver excellence. I am thoroughly enjoying my new role and the diverse challenges that it has to offer. I aim to provide a loving home that cares for all the residents and their families. I have an open door policy for residents’ relatives and staff, and actively encourage anybody to engage with me with their concerns or suggestions.
