Activities at Marriott House and Lodge Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Emma Sloan

Activities Lead

Hello, my name is Emma. I have recently joined the Marriot House and Lodge Family as Lead Activity Coordinator, and I’m enjoying getting to know everyone.

My previous job was Activity Coordinator at Sage house, where my focus was to provide support and activities to customers and their families who were supporting someone living with dementia.

At Marriot House and Lodge, I look forward to developing sessions aimed at ensuring that the residents take part in the activities that bring out their individual personalities and engage in the activities they most enjoy and love, encouraging residents to engage in new group and individual fun-filled activities and events.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my three children. They keep me busy going to clubs at the weekend. I also qualified as a swimming instructor two years ago and love to swim in my spare time.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Life at Marriott House and Lodge Care Home

BBQ days at Marriott

Here at Marriott, we don't need too much of an excuse to set up a BBQ. We love the excitement of lighting the grill and enjoying all the delicious options. We believe food and community is what enriches the lives of our residents. Full tummies, lots of chat and some summer sunshine is exactly what Marriott enjoys the most. Be sure to come along to next one!

Chichester Gala

Marriott House and Lodge took part in the annual Chichester Gala where we spent the whole day amongst local business and organisations. We were busy all day, giving away lots of goodies, talking about our home and finding out about other organisations in Chichester. We raised £300 for our Barchester foundation which is an incredible amount. We are so proud of the home and proud of our staff. Community is key and we love being part of it!

Yoga Days

Here at Marriott, we decided to master the art of Yoga whilst adopting a slightly different spin on it.

Our residents got to enjoy this discipline from the comfort of a chair - don't be fooled, this was just as hard as conventional yoga (but possibly more fun!)

We believe that all movement, big or small, contributes to a healthy lifestyle and a happier environment.

Marriott Gets Moving

And we’re off, on ya bike!!!

We recently took part in Get Barchester Moving where we challeneged the team to get on the bike and cycle miles and miles to raise funds for the Barchester's charitable foundation.

Established in 2000, the foundation does invaluable work supporting older people and other adults living with disability or mental health problems by help to connect or re-connect with other in their local communities.

Carers Make Marriott House

Carers week is an important part of our life here at Marriott House.

Our General Manager got a chance to say thank you to each and every carer who forms part of our amazing team.
Our carers received a certificate of thanks and ample amounts of chocolate too!

Thank you to all of our carers.

It's all about Community

Today our wonderful Admin Assistant / Receptionist Clara popped into two local community hospitals to say thanks for the support they show Marriott House and all the hard work they do.

Bognor and Arundel Community Hospitals do amazing work with the safe discharge of patients into the community, whether that's to be permanently settled in their new forever homes or short stays for respite after receiving care.

The teams here do a fantastic job and work tirelessly to ensure our communities are well looked after.

We can't imagine the homemade cupcakes lasted too long!
