Activities at Mallard Court Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. We provide a wide range of group activities and individual one to one activities to meet our residents needs including musical entertainers, PAT dog visits, minibus outings, themed events and much more!
We take a person centred approach when planning each individuals activities so they can achieve a feeling of self worth and well-being.
We hold monthly meetings with the residents and also regular meetings with their family and friends, discussing any ideas that they may have, and also any problems that their may have. Both of our activities coordinators, Steve and Lynne, have completed NAPA Activity Workers Level 2 Award training, and are continually seeking new ideas so we can ensure life in the home is as varied and interesting as possible. We encourage strong community links with the local schools, colleges and local charities in the community. Steve is supported also by his dogs, Tia, Pebbles and Oscar who give great pleasure to the residents in our home, and can often be seen either on a persons lap or being taken for a walk around the home. Many of the visitors that come into Mallard Court commented that it is so friendly and welcoming.

Steve Moss
Hi, my name is Steve, and I have been a Lifestyle Coordinator at Mallard Court since 2006, and have achieved the NAPA (National Association of Activity Providers) Level 2 Award in Activity Provision in the Care Sector.
We provide a wide range of activities for the people we support, as well as for their families and friends. I also love to have one-to-one chats with residents who like to reminisce about their lives over a cup of tea and some biscuits.
We have our own minibus and have fun days out sight-seeing, having a picnic or going a local pub for a drink and a meal. We also arrange for local artists to provide musical entertainment for everyone at Mallard Court.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Mallard Court Care Home

National Country Music Day
We love our music and live musical entertainment provided by various local artists.
We had a fabulous day here at Mallard Court in Bridlington celebrating International Country Music Day together.
Live entertainment was provided by star entertainer Geoff Broadway, sing along to our favourite country music songs, with a bit of line dancing thrown in for good measure!
We reminisced over our favourite country music artists, and we all agreed that Dolly Parton’s and Kenny Rogers’s version of “Islands in the Stream” is our most popular song.

Baking Club
Here at Mallard Court we really love our Baking Club activity creating delicious culinary delights together, and then enjoy sampling the finished articles. The Baking Club is a very popular activity and we made some scrumptious Scones for our Summer Fair.
We love to involve our residents family and friends and we had fun making Coconut & Lemon macaroons

Pamper Sessions
Here at Mallard Court our residents love their pamper sessions and sharing fond memories of time gone by with a nice cup of tea and biscuits.
We have nail manicures, foot spa, hand massages, hairdressing salon and have our very own sensory bath with music, lights and lots of bubbles, to create an intimate and special time for our residents and staff to enjoy together.

Home hosts Summer Fair
Staff, residents, relatives and the local community came together at Mallard Court to enjoy an Open Day & Summer Fair, which was held at the home on Saturday 19th August. Mallard Court hosted a variety of activities throughout the day, including craft stalls, cream teas, prize raffle, tombola, hook-a-duck and more, which were enjoyed by everyone who came to the event. Staff at Mallard Court made everyone feel welcome and were delighted to see different generations having fun together.

‘Herstory’ of Mayfair
Residents across our services had a fantastic time joining Mandy Morrow for a virtual walking tour to learn about the ‘Herstory’ of Mayfair. The Mayfair of Nightingales may be long gone but it still holds a 20th century charm. Birthplace to the late Queen Elizabeth II, home to one of WWII's most decorated female war heroes and a tale of a wealthy Aristocrat and one of France's favourite designers.
We were delighted to take a walk down memory lane and discover stories from one of London's most iconic areas. The experience was truly enjoyed by all.

Mallard Court loves Flowers and Gardening
We love our flower arranging craft sessions here at Mallard Court, creating some beautiful displays for around our home.
When the weather is fine we can’t wait to go into our spacious garden areas and do a spot of gardening together.
We are really proud of our “Bee friendly” garden wall which has really flourished, attracting a variety of Bees and Butterflies to our garden.
