Activities at Mallard Court Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. We provide a wide range of group activities and individual one to one activities to meet our residents needs including musical entertainers, PAT dog visits, minibus outings, themed events and much more!
We take a person centred approach when planning each individuals activities so they can achieve a feeling of self worth and well-being.
We hold monthly meetings with the residents and also regular meetings with their family and friends, discussing any ideas that they may have, and also any problems that their may have. Both of our activities coordinators, Steve and Lynne, have completed NAPA Activity Workers Level 2 Award training, and are continually seeking new ideas so we can ensure life in the home is as varied and interesting as possible. We encourage strong community links with the local schools, colleges and local charities in the community. Steve is supported also by his dogs, Tia, Pebbles and Oscar who give great pleasure to the residents in our home, and can often be seen either on a persons lap or being taken for a walk around the home. Many of the visitors that come into Mallard Court commented that it is so friendly and welcoming.

Steve Moss
Hi, my name is Steve, and I have been a Lifestyle Coordinator at Mallard Court since 2006, and have achieved the NAPA (National Association of Activity Providers) Level 2 Award in Activity Provision in the Care Sector.
We provide a wide range of activities for the people we support, as well as for their families and friends. I also love to have one-to-one chats with residents who like to reminisce about their lives over a cup of tea and some biscuits.
We have our own minibus and have fun days out sight-seeing, having a picnic or going a local pub for a drink and a meal. We also arrange for local artists to provide musical entertainment for everyone at Mallard Court.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Mallard Court Care Home

Meet the Reindeers
Across our homes we got into the Christmas spirit of things by joining a festive live virtual experience, led by Des and Kelly from Performing Pets.
Our residents were thrilled to meet the charming furry friends and get up close and personal with the reindeers. We certainly learnt some interesting facts about the animals and had a fantastic time.

We love a Birthday Celebration!
Here at mallard Court we love celebrating our residents birthdays which are so important to us all.
It is very heart-warming to see the excitement and pleasure on our residents faces.
We have a very special birthday in December when our resident Anne Cormack will be celebrating her landmark 105th birthday with her family, friends and staff.

Lest We Forget
We had a heart-warming activity here at Mallard Court preparing a beautiful display of flowers for Remembrance Sunday.
We created together a lovely display to remember the service and sacrifice of all those who that have defended our freedoms, and protected our way of life.
We watched the ceremony on our big screen TV, and joined together for the 2 minute silence at 11am on Sunday morning.

Christmas Fair kick starts festivities
Barchester’s Mallard Court Care Home, in Bridlington, got in the Christmas spirit by hosting their Christmas Fete for residents, families, friends and staff.
Mallard Court’s Christmas Fete was in full swing with a variety of stalls for residents, visitors and staff to enjoy together. Stalls included guess the Weight of the Christmas cake, Prize Tombola, Cuddly Toys and much more.

Arts and Crafts
Here at Mallard Court we love our arts and Craft sessions and encourage everyone to join in the fun together.
Whether its creating a lovely beach scenery together using brightly coloured acrylic paints with pebbles, shells and sand from the beach.
Or a themed colouring session, such as fun Halloween pictures for the children who visit their Great Grandparents to do together.

Beautiful flowers and cakes for a beautiful lady!
Mallard Court had the great pleasure celebrating together residents Kate’s 85th birthday with her family and friends.
Kate was born in the local village of Lissett in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
Kate trained to be a nurse at Leeds General Infirmary and she has travelled all around the world in her profession.
Canada, Australia, Palm Island, West Germany, Hong Kong and Belgium are just some of the countries Kate has worked in.
