Activities at Lawton Manor Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Chloe Cameron

Activities Coordinator

This is Chloe and she is our Activities Coordinator here at Lawton Manor. Her job is to physically and mentally stimulate our residents by offering a range of activities for them to enjoy. She wants to get everyone involved and make our home community and atmosphere as positive and welcoming as possible.

Making sure that our residents have things to do that they really enjoy doing is something that Chloe holds very close to her heart. It is so important to make sure that they are happy and enjoy all of the activities and events that we host for them. A lot of our residents also enjoy our special trips out on our Minibus as we create new, special memories together.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Life at Lawton Manor Care Home

Live musical entertainment

Residents enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of live entertainment listening to musicians Jon & Pam Baddeley.

Jon played the ukulele and clarinet while Pam sang, they are a fantastic duo and residents are always happy to see them perform.

Residents honor the fallen on Remembrance Sunday

Residents held their service of Remembrance and paid homage to all the lives lost through war and conflict.

Poppies have been displayed throughout the home that had been made by residents, staff and children from Woodcocks Well school.

Weekly Quiz and Games night at the local pub

Resident Carl is a very keen Quizzer.  Weekly trips out to the local pub for a fun games evening with Housekeeper Yvonne Seddon and Carl's daughter has proven to be a great success.

The Wilbraham Arms in Alsager offers a weekly quiz night, additional games such as play your cards right with a supper included!

Crafting home made Christmas decorations

Residents are enjoying crafting sessions creating home made decorations for one of the home's community Christmas trees which will be located in The Good Shepherd Church in Rode Heath through out the festive period.

Outings

We love an outing and especially for a spot of lunch at the Ash Inn in Mow Cop where the vista is spectacular year round.  It was very blustery outside but residents enjoyed the warmth and views of the local area while pouring over the menu

Spooktaclular fun

Here at Lawton Manor we got into the spooky Halloween spirit of things by creating an autumnal display with painted and carved pumpkins.

Some of our residents preferred to paint and decorate pumpkins and others got involved in themed quizzes and games, and enjoyed watching Halloween films.

We all had a spooktacular time!
