Activities at Juniper House Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Hayley Brice

Activities Coordinator

Hi, I’m Hayley I joined Juniper House In 2023. I have around six years’ experience in health and social care, starting as a healthcare assistant and then as I increasingly noticed how important residents well-being is in their daily life, onto an activities co-ordinator. I have grown passionate about improving their quality of life on a daily basis and being a companion and smiling face for our residents. I love to encourage residents to continue with things which they have always done throughout their life such as gardening or arts and crafts and also trying new things like learning a new dance technique! I am passionate about ensuring residents keep in contact with the community, so we regularly board the mini bus and I drive them to somewhere which they will love.

My favourite activities are in the summer where I plan many events to take place outside in the sunshine. Any excuse to be outside, whether it’s out in our greenhouse or having a drink in the garden with live music. I think this is such a happy time for residents and their families.

Life at Juniper House Care Home

Christmas Baking

Christmas preparations have begun at Juniper House as we came together to make our Christmas cake. With festive music playing, the smell of sweet sherry & seasonal spices of cinnamon & oranges, it definitely felt like Christmas is on the way. Stir in good luck for the new year & make a wish.

Remembrance Concert

The Windsor community at Juniper House hosted a live musical entertainment afternoon as we welcomed back the brilliant Bill Tustain for a special remembrance concert. Residents from all communities came together to enjoy reminiscing & singing to the classic wartime favourites. A lovely afternoon was had by all!

Dementia Choir with WHS

This morning residents & staff from Juniper House enjoyed an outing on our very own mini bus to visit the Old Fire Station community room for a morning of singing hosted by Winchester House School for their weekly dementia friendly choir. We were treated to delicious hospitality of homemade cakes served with warming hot beverages on this chilly autumnal day. Thank you to Emma & staff at WHS for making us all feel so welcome!

Virtual Cruise

Residents at Juniper House have been enjoying a virtual talk, hosted by Unilever, which took us on a tasting tour of Europe. Residents enjoyed watching live cookery demonstrations & were able to sample the delights which were being created, by our own Chef, from their virtual travels. Refreshing watermelon mojitos & traditional Dutch beer snacks, Bitterballen, proved very tasty & popular!

Pets as Therapy

Meet Sam, our new Pets as Therapy four-legged friend. Sam has been visiting residents every Wednesday morning, and we just love him.

Creative Mobility

We welcomed back Nick from Creative Mobility for an excellent exercise session, helping residents maintain a healthy & active lifestyle whilst having fun!

Nick tailors his sessions to suit the residents abilities with movement, equipment & music choices. He is engaging & encouraging, ensuring everyone is comfortable & enjoying taking.
