Hi, my name is Claire, and I am a General Manager here at Juniper House. Welcome to our website!
Some of you may remember me from when I previously worked here as the Deputy Manager, between March to August 2019. I left Juniper House to become General Manager at Middletown Grange, another Barchester care home.
I am delighted to be back at Juniper House and feel very fortunate to be able to work with the wonderful team, many of whom are still here from 2019. It has been a pleasure to be able to spend time getting to know the residents so far.
I am a registered Learning Disabilities Nurse. I started my nursing career supporting people with neurological conditions and brain injuries before moving to a care home setting in 2015.
I am deeply passionate about person-centered-care and placing the wishes and needs of individuals at the heart of everything I do. I believe that everybody has a voice, even if we can’t hear it. I hope to bring a different perspective as an RNLD to care at Juniper House, and I am looking forward to learning as much as I can about the lives of our residents, as well as meeting their loved ones in the coming weeks/months.
I believe in open, honest communication and welcome all feedback – whether good, or not so good. I hope to work together with residents, their loved ones and the entire team at Juniper to provide the highest standard of quality care that our residents deserve.
Hi. I’m Naomi and I’m a Senior Healthcare Assistants at Juniper House. I joined as a Carer in 2013 and was promoted after a year. I have previous experience of domiciliary care, supporting people in their own homes. I have gained experience in the residential and dementia communities here at Juniper House and I am looking forward to doing an NVQ3 in Care. I really enjoy my role, providing care with dignity to help people feel good for the rest of the day. I pay close attention to nutrition and hydration, making sure residents have appetising food and drinks of a consistency that makes it easy to swallow. I love getting to know residents, their backgrounds, their families and their likes and dislikes. It is often the little things that show we care, such as knowing whether an individual likes the radio left on or off, how they like to be referred to, and what little treats make them happy.
Hello. I am Claire, one of the Activities Co-ordinators at Juniper House. I joined the team in 2021 and absolutely love my job! I previously worked in activities for 10 years at a care home in Oxfordshire and am pleased to be working in Brackley now, which is my home town. I have a BTEC Level 2 in Supporting Activities in Social Care (QCF) and I am currently working towards Level 3. I am passionate about planning, developing and delivering meaningful, stimulating, person-centred activities and outings for our wonderful residents, and helping them stay connected with the local Brackley community. I aim to support residents in staying active and continuing all the lovely things they already enjoy doing. I also try to introduce them to activities they might not have tried before. I encourage families, friends and staff to join in with residents’ activities, and if there is a birthday or other celebration I endeavour to make it special for everyone. Our activities meet a wide range of needs including creative, physical, sensory, reminiscent, intellectual and social, all with Juniper friends.
Hello. I am Mikala and I am one of the Activities Coordinators at Juniper House. I joined the team in 2019 and thoroughly enjoy my job. I have the pleasure of supporting Barchester's Life Enrichment Programme by ensuring residents continue to live a full and active life when they move to Juniper House. We have an activities programme with a choice of things to do every day. I enjoy hosting craft sessions, arranging entertainment, leading physical activities, supporting social events, planning celebrations and arranging outings. I also help residents to stay connected with their families and the local community here in Brackley. If there is something your loved one enjoys doing please let us know, so that we can support them in continuing their existing interests.
Hi. I’m Corey and I'm one of two Chefs at Juniper House. I have 10 years’ experience as a Chef and Head Chef, of which five years is within care homes and two years at a Michelin-starred restaurant. I joined Juniper House in 2021 and I love my role. I like interacting with residents on a daily basis and I try to create new and exciting dishes to enhance the home’s dining experience. I also make sure there are traditional options and lots of treats and cakes for special celebrations. Everyone’s nutritional requirements and food preferences are individual and I am happy to cook something on request. We have regular meetings with residents to find out what they have enjoyed most from our menu. We welcome suggestions and try to include residents’ family favourites.
Hello. I'm Mandy and I joined Juniper House in 2012. I lead a team of Housekeepers in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and infection control. On a daily basis, we clean bedrooms, lounges, dining rooms, offices and other shared areas. We also do all the laundry and ironing required including residents' personal clothes and the home's linen. I make sure the team respect residents' personal possessions and we have good systems to ensure clothes are labelled, washed and repaired as required, before being returned promptly to the correct person. Our infection control procedures include regular daily cleaning activities and additional deep cleaning as required. I work closely with our Head of Maintenance to ensure fittings, equipment and decor are kept in good working order. The Housekeeping team carries out their role in a friendly, considerate manner, getting to know residents well to make sure their bedrooms are exactly as they like them. I also have responsibility for regulatory processes under COSHH regulations, including managing the supply, safe storage and correct usage of cleaning products.
Hi. I'm Colin and I am responsible for routine and reactive maintenance of Juniper House and its grounds, along with our Gardener. I ensure regular checks, inspections and annual certificates are all in order as well as doing fire alarm tests. I do some of the decorating, organise contractors, ensure the gardens look good, maintain the plant room and carry out water quality testing. I arrange repairs and replacement of equipment if anything needs putting right. I also drive the minibus when we take residents on outings and to medical appointments. I make sure bedrooms are ready for new residents and help move their belongings in. I'm an all-round helpful person so please let me know if you spot anything I can assist with.
Hello. I'm Luke and I am the Head Gardener at Juniper House. I joined the team in 2015 and am passionate about making sure the garden is well maintained and provides an inviting environment all through the year. I like to engage with residents and invite them to work alongside me in the garden if they wish. I am part of the Juniper House Gardening club consisting of residents and staff. We hold monthly meetings and plan gardening projects together. We create something for everyone including flowers, shrubs, vegetables and areas of lawn. I like to encourage birds and other wildlife too, and we have a choice of seating areas for activities and socialising. I like to see residents enjoying the garden with their visitors on a sunny day.
Hello. I'm Tracey and I am part of the Administration Team at Juniper House. I support the General Manager and the Administrator with any communications, record-keeping or financial processes that I can help with. I answer the telephone so it might be me you speak to first. I am really pleased to be working as part of a supportive team and I like getting to know residents' families.
