What our families say

The most fantastic purpose built care home in the area, which is genuinely like a home from home. My husband receives the best care, which is so wonderful to see - this is from everyone not just the amazing carers directly responsible for him, but from the chefs, housekeeping, administration staff, nurses, up to management level. The food is so good and there are always activities and outings being planned to stimulate and keep the residents active.
I too am always made so welcome and spend lots of time with my husband each day - I really feel part of the family - I cannot recommend Juniper house enough.

A great friend of mine recently had to find a care home within the Brackley area as she was unable to support herself going forward.
We enquired at several care homes in and around Brackley and and she subsequently decided to move into the Barchester Juniper House Care Home as it just felt right for her. I was happy for the decision she had made because I was also looking for those things you would also expect from a very good well managed hotel.
As she had never stayed in a care home before it was a huge decision for her. ....she wasn't disappointed.
When I make visits to see her she can't stop telling me about the fantastic food she has had, the lovely caring staff, the activities they do and the social events that take place.
Thank you Juniper Care Home for looking after a great friend.

Excellent care home and super staff. Right from the start I got the homely feel and the home is very clean and tidy. Nothing is to much trouble and the staff make you feel really welcome. The food is exceptional and they completely cater to my Mums dietary needs. We moved our Mum to Juniper House Care Home from another local care home which we were not happy with and its the best move we could have made. Mums happy and we her children are happy- Barchester Juniper Care Home please keep this up - I am sure you will :)

After a traumatic time of Dad being in hospital for 10 weeks from a fall, from the minute we walked through the door, Tracey on Reception and Naomi in the Office welcomed us with such warmth and compassion, as we were very fraught and distressed. We were guided through the admission process and getting Dad settled into Juniper house with ease and professionalism.
Dad stayed in Memory Lane, with Juniper House for 5 months. Having to adjust from living independently prior to the fall, to being physically and mentally incapacitated, now not able to do anything for himself. The care and friendliness he was shown was exceptional. The care team helped him adapt and cope with his new limitations. Everyone treated him with utmost care and respect and always had a friendly smile. Dad loved the food, and all his dietary requirements were met.
Dad had a full care plan in place that was regularly reviewed. We visited Dad most days, and witnessed the high level of care the care team delivered to all the residents, particularly at mealtimes where they are under a lot of pressure. Lyzyl and the care team remained inclusive and alert to balance every individual’s needs, again always with a smile and friendly chat. We cannot forget Mario and the housekeeping team.
During Dad’s end of life care, my family feel blessed to have had the opportunity to be with my Dad until his last breath. The professionalism, care and love from all of the RGN’s guided us through this sad time with support and ease. Dad was treated with the utmost dignity at all times, and his comfort was the priority, making the right decisions at exactly the right times. We can’t thank Larissa, Sala, Caroline, Aneesh and Emelyn enough. It is something we will never forget. Thank you!.

"There is a lovely caring, family atmosphere at Juniper House. My mother was very happy and well cared for, for her final months. Everyone has the resident's well being at the heart of all they do. We couldn't have been more satisfied."

"Amazing team at juniper. Gave me mum the best care possible through her last few months after her stroke. All went above and beyond with support for us all as a family. Such a homely environment throughout the home and always welcoming. Any issues we had or support we needed was never a problem for management to help with."

"Excellent, consistent kindly care, well led by management. Sensitive approach to death with dignity. One member of staff, in particular, is a great example but many other have been excellent others have been excellent throughout my mothers care, i.e. one member of staff, in particular, as a carer and another member of staff."

"My dad has been at Juniper House for over three years now. His needs are quite complex, and Juniper House is doing a fantastic job of looking after him. There have been ups and downs over the years, and lots of management changes, but the staff "on the ground" have always been fantastic and gone above and beyond. The current management is also fantastic and has put in place a staffing structure, which means these wonderful staff can excel. I would absolutely recommend Juniper House to anyone looking for nursing or residential care. Lots of activities, good food and a really lovely environment delivered by excellent staff with very high standards, who really care."

"I cannot rate this care home and their staff highly enough, from top to bottom the staff are absolutely brilliant with great management, as well as the home, being purpose-built so a brilliant facility. In January this year, we had to make the difficult decision for my grandmother to go into a care home. Covid was rife and trying to find a home that could accommodate immediately was tricky. I spoke with Juniper House and they arranged for me to go and look around straight away. Two staff members left a great impression and albeit that it wasn't in the immediate area we wanted the home felt right. Within a few days, my Gran was in. The induction process was brilliant and we really couldn't have been made to feel more at ease if we had tried. The staff were, and are, excellent in making not only the resident feel safe and happy but also making sure the family are happy. This was initially temporary due to location, however, we could not imagine her being anywhere else now."

"My husband was transferred to Juniper House from hospital in May 2022. He seems much happier in a more homely setting. He is not the easiest resident to deal with as he constantly wanders around, but staff seem able to manage his behaviour. We, myself, his children and grandchildren, are able to visit him in an unrestricted way which is reassuring."

"When my wife entered Juniper House on the 17th of May 2022 she was depressed and anxious and worried about her surroundings and the reason why she was there. Over the past 5/6 weeks, I have seen her change through the care understanding and support everyone has given and shown to her and me. She is eating well now and enjoys her trips outside in the garden. The memory book was good for her and me, giving me the time to reflect and answer the questions (very therapeutic for me). Please just keep doing what you are doing thank you."

"I visited my aunt this week at Barchester Juniper House in Brackley. This was the first time I had seen my aunt for some months, the last time during a hospital stay where she was not very well at all. I was delighted to find her back to her old self. She looked amazing and is happy and well cared for. The home is lovely and I know she is enjoying the relationships she has with both staff and residents. She is creative and so the art activities are a particular favourite. All the staff we met were charming. Many thanks to you all."

"My mum was admitted to Juniper house in June this year after deterioration both physically and mentally. I have to say if I could give Juniper house and all its staff a 1000 Star review I would. I haven't seen my mum so happy and settled in years. She has improved so much physically and mentally, all down to the fantastic care from the staff, excellent food, activities and entertainment. The staff always make you feel welcome, and nothing is too much trouble. They treat Mum as an she is an extended part of their family, and Mum likes to think of the staff as members of her family too. Whenever I discuss Mum's care with her care team they always want to help and ensure requests are followed. Today a lady came to entertain all the residents, dressed in a Royal Air Force uniform, singing wartime songs. The residents were joining in singing and waving Union Jacks. I found it very moving to see Mum singing her heart out. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you all."

"My dad arrived at Juniper House after a very long stay in the hospital. We were greeted at Juniper House with a very warm welcome, the staff are all warm and friendly. My dad was made to feel comfortable and staff go out of their way to ensure all his needs are met. The design of the care home is super and the corridors have enabled my dad to move around with a frame and build up strength in his legs. He feels safe and secure in this environment. He can socialise with other patients at mealtimes. Juniper has helped create a home away from home. My dad has been allowed his digital piano in his room and his dog visits regularly. Members of the family visit every day and if we have any problems staff are always accommodating and keen to help."

"Mum has been in the care home since the beginning of November 2022 and seems to have settled well. The care she receives is of a high quality in a clean and positive environment. I live abroad and always have complete feedback on the phone. Reception is welcoming and positive. Obviously, such a home is expensive and I feel strongly that this should not be a criteria for staying and that all elderly people in need should have financial support."

"My mother came to Juniper House, to begin with for respite care. The care and support that we all received was outstanding. So much so that Mother once said she would never go into a care home and within a week does not want to return home. The move to Juniper House has given my mother a new lease of life and she is now joining in with social events, visiting the hairdresser and has a more positive outlook on her life which is evident to see when we visit."

"My husband has been in Barchester Juniper House nearly two years with advanced dementia - unable to care or speak for himself. His care has been excellent - caring and respectful. I visit every day. The home is like home from home. Caring staff, homely atmosphere and thoughtfulness, even to myself. My nephew, from Australia, visited - he had hardly got through the door and was very impressed with the home and my husband's room and the friendliness of staff. I know my husband is in good hands. The meals are very good and most of the time, presented well. I have recommended the home to others. I am very happy with Juniper."

"Juniper house is an outstanding home in every aspect. Each and every member of staff is so kind, helpful, thoughtful and caring of all their residents. My mum feels safe, happy and is eating well. She needs extra nursing care and her nurses are so kind and attentive. As soon as you walk into the home there is a cosy, warm family atmosphere. Her room is bright with new furniture and a lovely outlook on the garden. With the help of carers she can shower each day safely. Mum enjoys all her meals, when living alone she hardly ate and had a poor appetite. I have observed the carers and all staff with other residents and they are treated with utmost kindness and respect. I am always made to feel welcome and I really like the happy atmosphere, there is plenty for mum to do if she wishes. Mum likes to spend time in the garden which is kept beautiful with bird feeders, flowers and a fish pond. I am truly thankful to the manager and her amazing team, Juniper Houser is wonderful."

"Barchester Juniper House is an outstanding home. My nan has been there for sixteen months now after only going in for two weeks rest, she absolutely loved it and wanted to make this her new home. All the staff are amazing, nothing is ever too much to ask from them. It's a very welcoming, clean and family feel to the home. Activities are always on and loads of different things for her to enjoy plus being taken out to local places. It's always lovely and clean when we visit and full of smiles from the staff. This definitely makes it easier to leave Nan in the best hands when we leave."

"Mum has been in Juniper now for a little over a year. The staff are very welcoming, cheery and approachable. They will always help with any concerns and keep families well informed. The standard of care is very good and individual needs are addressed. There are plenty of activities for residents to enjoy if they wish to, but privacy is also respected. The grounds are beautifully kept and the communal areas and residents rooms are always very clean. The food is very good and residents are frequently consulted for their likes and dislikes. We would like Mum to be taken out into the garden a little more often but appreciate that this can be difficult due to varying demands on staff."

"I selected Juniper House for my father based on the testament of two friends and a personal visit. The home is in a lovely setting and is beautifully landscaped and well-maintained, the central courtyard with the fountain being visible from all the rooms on that side of the building. The inside is well-designed, laid out and immaculately clean. I wanted to get my father out of the hospital and into nursing care. The manager pulled out all the stops to achieve this as quickly as possible. All the staff were welcoming, friendly, caring, kind and helpful; I knew they would take good care of my father. As it turned out he did not have much time left, so he didn't get to take part in any of the many fun and stimulating activities offered to residents. The staff went out of their way to make my father's short stay comfortable and dignified, I genuinely can't think of a single thing that could have been done better and will always be grateful for the way they treated him."

They know the needs of individuals and respond accordingly. "We looked at eight other new homes for our 92 and 93 year old parents. They have been in residence for three weeks so far, but we cannot fault the staff. Care, compassion and kindness all come to mind, but that doesn't begin to do justice to this exceptional care home! They really do go the extra mile to ensure that residents adapt to their new home. They are not just supported, cared for and loved, but it seems that everything possible is done to make them happy. The food is excellent and activities varied and all-inclusive. There is not a doubt that this home is absolutely perfect for our family. Thank you so much."
