Activities at Hilton Park Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Jenelyn Szabo
Hello, my name is Jenelyn and I am the head of activities here at Hilton Park.
Having started my Barchester journey as a carer back in 2019, I have gained good experience of working closely with our residents. After being a carer I then moved onto the Activities team and thoroughly enjoyed working as an Activities co-ordinator, which led to my promotion to Activity Lead.
Nothing makes me happier than seeing the smiles on our residents faces.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Hilton Park Care Home

Lights...Camera...Action!!
A Special Morning at Hilton Park.
This morning, we were delighted to welcome ITV News Anglia, who came to interview some of our wonderful residents about their memories of VE Day.
It was truly special for our residents to share their stories. Iris was joined by her son, a proud army veteran, while Gill, Brian and John also shared cherished memories. We were treated to a lovely performance of wartime favourites by May Blossom, Vintage Songbird, Sallie, who was also interviewed.
We’re so excited to see the segment aired on television next Thursday, as part of the 80th anniversary of VE Day, and to hear the full story. Thank you to everyone who made today so memorable.

A trip to the Garden Centre
The sun was shining and it was way too nice not to take advantage of the glorious spring weather and take a trip out in the minibus.
The ladies had a lovely time at Scotsdales Garden Centre, admiring the beautiful displays, delighting in the giant fish in the aquarium, and enjoying some refreshments.
Another great day had by all at Hilton Park!!

Outdoor exercise with Warren
We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon during our exercise session led by our fantastic coach, Warren.
Everyone took part with great enthusiasm, passing the ball kept minds sharp and spirits high, while learning each other’s names added to the fun. Gentle exercises and a breath of fresh air left everyone feeling relaxed and uplifted.
We were also joined by our lovely visitor, Karen, from Claremont Parkway Care Home and we rounded off the day with warm conversation and a joyful sing-along beneath the trees.
Well done everyone.

VE Day preparations
We started our busy day here at Hilton Park, preparing for the biggest event next week, our very special VE Day garden party.
Our residents were so dedicated, helping our activities team with their arts and crafts session this afternoon.
We followed this by taking a well earned breath of fresh air in our glorious gardens afterwards before coming back in for coffee and cake.

Happy St Georges Day
We had a wonderful time celebrating with a special singalong, led by the lovely Cara just before lunch. She sang a selection of classic songs that brought back so many happy memories.
There were smiles all around as everyone joined in singing, dancing in their chairs, and proudly waving their flags. It was such a joyful atmosphere!
A big thank you to Cara for giving us such a heartwarming morning. It truly was a delightful celebration!

And now for something different.......
Residents were absolutely delighted as Tracey wowed everyone with her amazing balloon-shaping skills – all while singing beautifully! She cleverly created balloon shapes based on the songs she was singing.
Her voice was truly stunning, and she kept everyone engaged, encouraging them to guess what shapes she was making.
The residents said it was absolutely wonderful – something new and exciting that brought so much joy. They all had a marvellous time!
