Activities at Hilton Park Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Jenelyn Szabo
Hello, my name is Jenelyn and I am the head of activities here at Hilton Park.
Having started my Barchester journey as a carer back in 2019, I have gained good experience of working closely with our residents. After being a carer I then moved onto the Activities team and thoroughly enjoyed working as an Activities co-ordinator, which led to my promotion to Activity Lead.
Nothing makes me happier than seeing the smiles on our residents faces.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Hilton Park Care Home

Enjoying the Sunshine
A joyful morning of singing with the lovely Julie Bristow, who brought smiles to our residents by sharing classic old songs with those cared for in their rooms.
Others enjoyed a peaceful time basking in the garden sunshine.
A beautiful day filled with music and warmth.

VE Day Celebrations
Today we celebrated VE Day at Hilton Park with live music from Boots 'n' Strings , who performed a few beloved wartime favourites.
Families, friends, and students from Bottisham Village College joined us and shared lovely conversations with our residents, filling the day with joy, memories, and a true sense of togetherness.
We ended the day with warm chats over delicious refreshments, kindly prepared by our wonderful chef, Adriana.
Thank you so much to everyone - it was a truly special day.

Shopping at the Garden Centre
We had a lovely outing this morning. Since the weather was a bit chilly for a trip to the River Cam, we went with Plan B – and it turned out beautifully.
We visited Scotsdales Garden Centre, wandered around, had a nice laugh, and picked up some colourful new flowers for the garden. The ladies enjoyed a bit of shopping, and Richard found some tomato plants to grow.
We rounded off the morning with some refreshments, then returned home with arms full of vibrant blooms. A delightful day indeed!

A trip out to the local
This afternoon, we took a spontaneous turn from our planned visit to Anglesey Abbey and instead enjoyed a lovely outing to The Black Horse Inn Swaffham Bulbeck.
Over a relaxing coffee and a well-earned pint, our three residents shared plenty of laughter and good company.
Lily hosted a brilliant pub quiz for our three residents, which added an extra spark of fun to the afternoon. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience for everyone, and we returned home with big smiles and happy hearts.

The Queen of Hilton Park
Welcoming Our Miss Hilton Park Queen – Amy!
Our delightful Amy, proudly holding the title of "Miss Newmarket", brought joy and glamour to Hilton Park yesterday as she showcased the stunning gowns from her recent pageant.
With elegance, poise, and posture well beyond her years, she walked up and down the red carpet like a true professional model – leaving everyone in awe.
Amy is a familiar face here, known for her bubbly personality and cuddly toy companions. But yesterday was truly special. As John perfectly said, “She’ll shine like a diamond.”

Classic Cars at Hilton Park
A massive thank you to everyone who joined us today - especially the classic car owners who spent the afternoon with us, even though the weather was a bit chilly! Everyone had a wonderful time walking around, admiring the details of the cars, and even getting the chance to sit in a few. Our residents were so pleased and surprised by how many cars turned up - such friendly people all around!
A big thank you to Alex Southgate for the fantastic entertainment, and to our amazing Activities Team, Maintenance, and Kitchen departments for all their support.
It was a great success - we hope to see you all again next year!
