Activities at Hilton Park Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Hello, my name is Jenelyn and I am the head of activities here at Hilton Park.
Having started my Barchester journey as a carer back in 2019, I have gained good experience of working closely with our residents. After being a carer I then moved onto the Activities team and thoroughly enjoyed working as an Activities co-ordinator, which led to my promotion to Activity Lead.
Nothing makes me happier than seeing the smiles on our residents faces.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Hilton Park Care Home
Christmas Choir
Hilton Park and Oaklands enjoyed Christmas Hymns sung by a local choir. This event really got us into the Christmas spirit.
Remembrance Day Service
As part of Hilton Park and Oakland's Remembrance Day activities, residents from both homes came together to remember those who have fallen in battle. Leading up to Remembrance Day, residents and staff created a stunning poppy dress, which truly set off our Remembrance Day display. Residents also painted beautiful pictures of poppies. We held a Remembrance Day service and The Last Post was played.
Halloween Afternoon Tea
Our monthly afternoon tea took on a spooky theme as we celebrated Halloween. Witches hats were worn by both residents and staff and everyone commented on the scary pumpkins!
Wear it Pink
Staff and residents wore pink to raise money for breast cancer. Everyone loved to see how they would look with pink hair – even the men looked good! We held a ‘pink’ raffle and ate pink cakes, all for a very worthy cause.
Anniversary Celebrations
Brian and Eileen celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on 9th October, with friends and family visiting throughout the day. They both said that their long and happy marriage was all due to give and take, working together and good communication. Here’s to many more happy years together!
Harvest Festival
Residents and relatives enjoyed a Harvest Festival and communion service, which was conducted by our local vicar, the Rev. Sue Giles.
Harvest Festival is an annual celebration to mark the end of the main harvest season and a time to give thanks for the crops that have been grown.

Join us at our monthly pudding club as we taste delicious delights, which have been expertly prepared by our team of chefs.
