Activities at Hazel Lodge Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Silver Sunday - Celebrating older Persons Day

We celebrated Silver Sunday 2023 with some fabulous entertainment from Steven Dunnett  followed by a delicious afternoon tea . People from the community were invited in to join the celebrations and with the sun shining everyone was able to make the most of our lovely gardens.

Macmillan Coffee Morning

Big Thank you to everyone who came along to our MacMillan Coffee morning in September , it was lovely to see residents, staff and visitors all enjoying a slice of cake for such a great cause. With your help we managed to raise a grand total of £76.85 !

Charity Donation- Warming up the Homeless

We were really pleased to be able to present Ann from Warming Up the Homeless with a cheque for £314.14 which was raised by the Hazel Lodge team at their Summer Fete back at the end of July . The donation was presented by resident Stewart and Sonia from our Activities team who were thrilled to be able to support this local charity.

Harvest Festival

We had a lovely time celebrating Harvest Festival by reminiscing about days gone by and for some of the residents, bringing in the harvest , driving tractors and the traditional hop-picking which brought families from London to Kent and Sussex in September . Although, the days of staying in hopper huts has passed the art of harvesting the hops is passed down through the generations and some of these families still come every year to help with the harvest .
Also , in true tradition we asked for food items to be donated which will be distributed to local people in need .

Tractor Run Comes to Hazel Lodge

What an amazing morning we had when the tractor run came to Hazel Lodge . Residents enjoyed chatting about the different tractors and reminiscing about days on the farm, helping to plough the fields and potato picking in autumn.
Carol had fond memories of driving her Massey Ferguson tractor on her farm and we even managed to persuade Caroline our General Manager to have a go in the Hazel Lodge car park !

Fun in the Sun

With the sun shining we've been making the most of getting outside and enjoying an Ice Cream float in the garden . This retro classic brings back memories of summer holidays gone by , whether that be the summer of '76' or the 2 weeks of rain in a caravan in Westward Ho !
