Hazel Lodge Care Home is East Sussex
Hazel Lodge is a brand new purpose-built care home in the historic town of Battle. Alongside long-term care, we also offer short-term breaks for respite and intermediate care. Our experienced and dedicated team will be ready to deliver exceptional standards of compassionate care, which focuses on the individual needs of each resident.
The home features a wide range of facilities including a café with outdoor seating serving tea, coffee and delicious homemade cakes, dining rooms with garden access ideal for summer nights, a cinema to watch the classics and a relaxing spa bathroom located on each floor of the home. As with all Barchester homes, there is a full and varied schedule of virtual and live activities each and every day which residents are welcome to get involved in as much or as little as they wish.
For those living with dementia, there is a dedicated area called Memory Lane which offers high quality care and thoughtful touches to help make life easier. For example, features include a Magic Table – this is an interactive light projector that was originally developed in The Netherlands. It's a specialist piece of technology designed to support residents living with dementia.
Care is focused on independence, dignity and choice, with a person-centred approach. Staffing levels will reflect the needs of residents, and people living with dementia will be offered a range of activities to help preserve life skills, support interactions and retain a sense of purpose and selfhood. Meals are freshly prepared on-site by trained chefs, who offer a range of nutritious and tasty food, catering for special dietary requirements when needed.

The dedicated and experienced team are passionate about providing quality care to each individual living at the home.
As the new Manager at Hazel Lodge I am looking forward to getting to know the local businesses and being accepted as part of the local community.
I have worked in the care sector for a number of years in various roles with all age groups. Initially I began my career working in learning disabilities service which I thoroughly enjoyed, although the majority of my career has been working with older people.
In all my roles the most important aspect has always been the people who I have worked with and supported to live life to the full.
I believe everyone should live life to the full and we should stop any barriers due to age, disabilities, medical conditions. My moto is:
“Life is for Living As You Choose”
I have a passion for providing the very best care. With the every growing demand for support in Dementia Care if is absolutely fabulous that Barchester are going to have memory lane within Hazel Lodge. I have completed various training which I really enjoy doing which have helped developed my skills and I continue to keep myself updated.
In personal life I suppose you could say I do like animals, I have 2 dogs ( Jack Russel) and a (Chocolate Labrador). I also have a Cat. I love going for walks and often you will see me out with one of my dogs. I enjoy spending time with my family and this involves holidays which are often rather busy more than relaxing. The truth is I am active person and wouldn’t want it any other way. I have also started cycling again and I am having golf lesson, so let’s see how that goes.Get in touch Meet my team
