Meet the Hazel Lodge Care Home Team

Hi , my name is Raymond and I am the Deputy Manager at Hazel Lodge .

I started my career working as a support worker for adults with learning disabilities, where I worked for 16 years, in which time I worked my way up to a senior, and then to deputy manager.

I made the transition to residential / dementia care 5 years ago to take on a new challenge and experience a different side of the adult social care industry, where I found much of my experience and many of my skills to be easily transferable.

I decided to join Barchester in 2025 due to their commitment to delivering high quality, person centred care, with an emphasis on enrichment and positive outcomes. 
 

Hello, my name is Sharon, and I am the Home Services Advisor at Hazel Lodge. I have worked in both residential, memory and nursing care settings since 2009, and I am passionate about providing the very best support and advice for families when choosing the right care home for their loved one.

I love spending time listening to resident's stories and finding out what is important to them and their families. It's a great privilege to be able work in their home and to be able to be a part of making new memories.  

Outside of work I'm a country girl at heart, I have 2 horses, 2 dogs, 4 tortoises, 7 chicken and my other half to keep me busy! 

I look forward to getting to know all of the wonderful new residents and to welcome them and the Battle community into Hazel Lodge.

I have many years of experience in the care industry which supports me in my role as Community Lead at ‘Hazel Lodge’.

It's great being part of the team at ‘Hazel Lodge’ and being able to use my skills to provide the very best care for our residents.

I have always enjoyed working in the care sector as it gives me a sense of achievement in supporting older people to live a full life.

My interests are keeping fit and healthy, visiting the gym and having competed in Powerlifting competitions.

I love to set goals and keep motivated. I lead a busy active life whilst maintaining a good social and family life which is important to me.

I’m a strong believer in a positive mental attitude that creates a positive mindset and outcomes.

Hello my name is Megan, I am the Activities Coordinator here at Hazel Lodge.

Iv been working for Hazel Lodge for around two years, I started off as a carer, went on to being a General assistant and now have become the Activities Coordinator. Activities is a great fit for me, The largest and best part of my role is ensuring that all of our residents are engaged and that their lives are enriched. I do this by taking in to account of their life story/history, their interests and hobbies. I work towards and do this to promote their wellbeing. I will go above and beyond for anyone and have continued to do this within my job role. 
 

Hello, My Name Is Mark, I have worked for Barchester since 2021, I enjoy the role of maintenance as its very varied not one day is the same. I like to keep the home looking nice and fresh for Residents, Staff and all visitors.  

Previously I’ve worked in different Care Homes/Hotels as a Maintenance Man for many years. I have 3 children and 5 Step children, I love nothing more than a Football kick around, and watching with the children. I enjoy taking our 2 dogs (A Labrador and Springer Spaniel) out for long walks along the beautiful Sussex coast.

My name is Lauren and I am a bank receptionist at Hazel Lodge .

I enjoy being front of house and greeting all our visitors when they arrive.

It's lovely being able to spend time with the residents when they visit the bistro and to chat to the families . 

My name is Rose and I am a Senior Carer at Hazel Lodge.

I love spending time getting to know our residents and finding out what makes them smile even when they may not be having the best day. 

I am always singing around the home and love to have a go on the karaoke much to the residents amusement.

I started at Hazel Lodge at the beginning of 2023 and enjoy the time spent with the residents . I am passionate about providing the very best care with respect and dignity .

Hello ,  my name is Rachel and I am a hostess at Hazel Lodge .

I enjoy talking to the residents and keeping them topped up with cups of tea and cake made by the chef.

Hi , I'm Nathan and I'm part of the hospitality team at Hazel Lodge .

I started at Hazel Lodge as a kitchen assistant and after encouragement and support from the team was promoted to 2nd Chef in March 2025.

I love being able to look after the dietary requirements of our residents and creating delicious menus for them to eat.

Hi, I'm Wendy and I'm a Community Lead at Hazel Lodge . I live in Robertsbridge with my little family and I've been part of the team since November 2023.

I have worked in the health and social care sector for over 14 years and have experience in a variety of settings. I am passionate about providing high quality care and supporting the wonderful team here to do the same.
I believe in making a positive impact on the lives of not only our residents but also their friends and families and the best part of my working day is the quality time I get to spend with them all.

I started here in 2023 , shortly after the home opened and have loved seeing the home grow and being part of the amazing team here.

I am the Home Administrator and I deal with all aspects of administration in the home to ensure it runs smoothly.
