Activities at Hazel Lodge Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

I am thrilled to be part of the team at ‘Hazel Lodge’ and to use the large range of experience I have from within the care sector.

As the Activities co-ordinator I have a real passion for promoting individual well-being and life enrichment and work closely with residents and their families, planning activities and events that they would like to participate in.

Flower Arranging

Our residents loved this flower arranging session and chose the most beautiful autumnal chrysanthemums for their arrangements . It's lovely to hear the chit chat and laughter from the ladies as they create their masterpiece , with most of the conversations having absolutely nothing to do with flowers .

Christmas Baking

Christmas cake made and I have to say it smelt delicious with cinnamon and mixed spice filling the home . With residents and staff all sharing their 'baking' tips this is one very special cake made with love .

Our First Birthday

Congratulations Hazel Lodge .....we're now officially a year old !
We recently celebrated our very first birthday at Hazel Lodge by holding an Abba themed party within the home for residents, relatives and staff . We celebrated in style with some traditional party games , a sparkling toast by our Regional Director Jeff Levine followed by birthday cake , live music and a buffet supper .
It was a wonderful day with lots of fun and laughter in the home .

Keeping Up Traditions

Our lovely Jean always makes a pot of spring bulbs for her late husband at Christmas , this year we made sure that she had everything she needed to continue to do just that. Clare our administrator just happened to walk in as we were getting started so Jean shared her knowledge and gave her a lesson on where each of the bulbs needed to be planted .The tub will stay outside Jean's patio doors now so she can keep an eye on them until she delivers them in December .

World Kindness Day

In recognition of World Kindness Day on 13th November , the Hazel Lodge team made a surprise visit to the guys at  Music for the Memory in Battle . Our chefs made some scrummy cupcakes for us to take along and share with the group .

Firework Night

Our residents enjoyed a fun evening celebrating Bonfire night with jacket spuds , sizzling sausages and sparklers. The evening was topped off with live music from Andy Mace and a chance to warm up with some hot moves on the dance floor.
