Activities at Hazel Lodge Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

I am thrilled to be part of the team at ‘Hazel Lodge’ and to use the large range of experience I have from within the care sector.

As the Activities co-ordinator I have a real passion for promoting individual well-being and life enrichment and work closely with residents and their families, planning activities and events that they would like to participate in.

Intergenerational Opera

This month we welcomed back the teachers and pupils from Battle Abbey School for the first session of our Intergenerational Opera project.
Thank you to everyone who took part and Charlotte and the team , it really was a fantastic morning and we can't wait to see everyone again next week.
The project will be running over 5 weeks with pupils and residents getting together to learn the story and songs of Carmen in operatic style with a final performance at the end of the project.

Caught in the Act

Caught in the Act! 😁
We decided to kick start our weekly Community cafe with some exercises to burn off all the lovely cake we're about to consume!
We were  joined by Emma and Daryl our local community police officers who happily joined in and put the residents through their paces.

Visit to Wylands

It was a bit too nippy for a trip to the seaside so our residents decided on a drive out to Wylands Farm Shop and Café instead .
It was lovely to have a wander around the farm shop and then stop off for a delicious hot chocolate and scone whilst taking in the beautiful view.

Residents Christmas Party

We had a fantastic time at our residents Christmas party , with family games and lucky dip and one lucky resident picking out a lump of coal ! 😁🥳 It was lovely seeing all the generations having a go at the charades which seemed to get more jolly as the Baileys flowed . Thank you to everyone for coming along and for the whole team in getting involved and making it such a lovely fun afternoon.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas ....

Residents have been spreading the festive cheer and decorating the first of our Christmas trees in the home . The residents picked their favourite colour scheme for each of our trees and knew exactly where each bauble should go , bringing back memories of decorating the tree with their children in years gone by .
