Activities at Florence Court Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Jessica Duery
I have been working in the Care Sector for 5 years and started out as a Domestic and Laundry Assistant. I decided that I wanted to progress my career in an activities capacity, so I became an activities provider, then progressed to an Activities Co-Ordinator which I did for 2 years prior to joining the team at Florence Court.
I have a real passion for Activities and get a great deal of pleasure in enriching the residents' lives through meaningful activities. I love getting to know the residents and spending time with them finding out what they love to do. Every day is very different and rewarding.
I am currently studying to advance my knowledge and career path. I am very grateful for the support Barchester gives to enable me to do this.
When I'm not at work, I love to travel and visit new places. I also enjoy the time I spend with my cocker spaniel, Cooper.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Florence Court Care Home

Nutrition and Hydration Week
At Florence Court, we have decided that once a month we will host a nutrition and hydration week for our residents to promote health and well-being. We started the week off strong with Milkshake Monday, prepared by our wonderful kitchen team. Poor hydration in the elderly can lead to risks of multiple health issues; the milkshakes were a great way of promoting fluid intake and they were delicious so our residents loved them!.

A trip to The Solent
The past few weeks we have made the most of the better weather and enjoyed trips to Lee on Solent for ice cream, tea and cake and having a laugh in the sunshine. Our residents love getting out on the minibus, and living so close to the beach is always a bonus!

Easter Celebrations
Easter celebrations!
This Easter period we have enjoyed celebrating with arts and crafts, baking, spending time with our nearest and dearest, enjoying hot cross buns and a special Easter service from St John’s Locks Heath church.

A special Easter visit from the school
Getting in the Easter spirit!
Today we celebrated the start of Easter week joined by West Hill Park School Year R students for an Easter egg hunt in our garden. Our residents loved seeing how happy the children were running round finding the eggs and lending them a helping hand aswell! It was such an enjoyable afternoon for everyone

Mother's Day

Our home was beautifully decorated as we enjoyed a delicious variety of sweet and savoury treats. A massive thank you to Alice - Applewood Entertainment for your wonderful performance during! There were smiles all round as everyone enjoyed a wonderful afternoon.
