Activities at Elm Bank Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Tina Prosho
Hello. I am Tina, I have been a team member at Elm Bank since 2023 and began my career as a Team Leader and was upskilled to Head of Care before moving my role to become Activities Coordinator.
I am passionate individual with vibrant character and my goal is all about life enriching activities that enhance the lives of our residents. I ensure that the entertainment is stimulating and is inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers rich experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home of interest, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities. We are a pet friendly home and fully support the benefits animal therapy can bring to the lives of our residents and welcome animals of all kinds to the home on a regular basis.
Getting to know our residents better is so important to me, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Elm Bank that will make for a richer activities program to be developed. I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.
We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact me direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Elm Bank Care Home

Cooking Club is back!
Today our residents had the pleasure of being guided in how to make a perfect pizza with home hospitality host; Garion.
Fits of giggles ensued as the group tried to stretch their pizza bases without tearing the delicate dough. Even one of our visiting family members had a go at creating his favourite topped pizza!
Thank you to our activities team, Garion and the care assistants who all got involved in this fun and enriching activity. Our residents will love tucking into a slice later... homemade pizza is simply the best.

Vintage Cafe Visit
This week good friends and residents at Elm Bank; John and Christine, took a nostalgic step back in time with a visit to The Blitz Tea Room and Jazz Lounge in Kettering.
An authentic 1940’s Tea Room serving a range of afternoon teas, lunches and drinks in period surroundings. From the moment John and Christine arrived memories came flooding back to their home life growing up in the 40’s.
We were welcomed on arrival by one of the lady owners; dressed in red, white and blue to match the union flag bunting that adorned the café ceiling.
From its ration book inspired menu, to the memorabilia clad walls, filled cabinets and bygone furniture, this day trip down memory lane didn’t disappoint!
As our little group sat drinking tea from a traditional china service and enjoyed freshly made scones with Vera Lynn playing in the back ground, we all agreed it’s a truly magical place, full of fun and nostalgia.
Just perfect for those who wish to immerse themselves in 'the war years' and reminisce about times gone by, John and Christine loved every moment and would recommend you visit this little Kettering based gem whenever you get the chance.

Employee of the Month - April 2023
Elm Bank care home residents and colleagues wish to congratulate Care Assistant; Charlotte Adams on receiving Employee of the Month.
Charlotte has been nominated by her colleagues, and the residents for having such a warm and caring nature and demonstrating she's always ready to go the extra mile... with a smile!
Home Manager; Katie Hudson said, "Charlotte is a genuine caring person, fully of energy and happy to help others across all our communities. We hope she enjoys spending her £25 voucher and the flowers brighten her day as she does ours whenever she’s on shift. "
Thank you Charlotte for your continued hard work and dedication to the Elm Bank family.

New Stitch Crafts
Our residents enjoy getting to grips with new techniques. Yesterday's Arts & Crafts session with Atlanta and the care team on our Daisy Lane community was ideal for improving their hand-eye coordination.
By carefully feeding thread through the pre-punched holes, our residents enjoyed seeing the pattern come to life! Each one as unique as the resident giving it a go.

World Turtle Day
In ‘shellibration’ of World Turtle Day on 23rd May 2023, the yearly observance for the protection of turtles and tortoises and their disappearing habitats around the world. Activities Assistants; Emily and Atlanta set up a Turtle inspired Arts & Crafts afternoon of colouring and card making.

Mental Health Awareness Gift of Kindeness
The wonderful young students Hall Meadow Primary School marked Mental Health Awareness Week by creating some beautiful kindness cards for the residents at Elm Bank.
This year’s theme is anxiety and how it can get out of control and become a mental health problem. The delivery of these brightly designed cards with hand written words of kindness certainly lifted the sprits of our residents and staff.
General Manager, Katie Hudson, said: “Mental Health Awareness Week is a really worthwhile initiative. Our activities team and staff have spent time with our residents to read the kind words from the children.
We thank them for thinking of us and continuing to find ways to stay connected, and look forward to their next visit. Hopefully this will be the start of a regular PenPal scheme with our residents already starting to write back."
