Activities at Elm Bank Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Activities Coordinator

Tina Prosho

Activities Lead

Hello my name is Tina and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Elm Bank Care Home.

I joined Elm Bank in May 2023 as a Team Leader soon becoming the Head of Care before moving to the role of Activities Coordinator and leading the team in January 2024. My passion is to provide life enriching activities that enhance the lives of our residents.

By providing entertainment that is not only stimulating but person-centred. Our weekly calendar offers rich experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home of interest, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities. We are a pet friendly home and fully support the benefits animal therapy can bring to the lives of our residents and welcome animals of all kinds to the home on a regular basis.

Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Elm Bank that will make for a richer activities program to be developed. I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.

We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact me direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Filling our Hearts with Art

Residents were invited to join Abeona Nursery in filling their hearts with art.

What fun we all had!!

We decorated cupcakes, marble painting, hand painting on a canvas, flower vase decorating and much more. Both the children and residents had so much fun, the staff had a fun morning too. Thank you to all the staff and children at Abeona Nursery for inviting us along to your special day.

Pen Pal Letters Delivered!

Today our Activities Lead Kerrie visited Loddington C of E Primary School to deliver their pen pal letters. Ellie the Yr2 teacher brought cards at Christmas that the children wrote and now the residents have written back. The children were so excited to have responses from their pen pal and couldn't wait to give the letters a read.

We look forward to hearing back from you all soon. Thank you for being incredible pen pals to our residents.

We experimented with a variety of tools to see which was the best to use and enjoyed adding some of our favourite colours to our artwork.

Holocaust Memorial Day

Today our Activities Lead Kerrie, Senior Carer Danni and Carer Isabelle joined Kettering's Holocaust Memorial Day Commemoration. It was a pleasure to represent the home to remember those who died during the Holocaust and during more recent genocides in Ukraine, Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.
