Activities at Elm Bank Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Tina Prosho

Activities Lead

Hello my name is Tina and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Elm Bank Care Home.

I joined Elm Bank in May 2023 as a Team Leader soon becoming the Head of Care before moving to the role of Activities Coordinator and leading the team in January 2024. My passion is to provide life enriching activities that enhance the lives of our residents.

By providing entertainment that is not only stimulating but person-centred. Our weekly calendar offers rich experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home of interest, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities. We are a pet friendly home and fully support the benefits animal therapy can bring to the lives of our residents and welcome animals of all kinds to the home on a regular basis.

Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Elm Bank that will make for a richer activities program to be developed. I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.

We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact me direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Faraway Children Easter Treats

This week we had the enormous pleasure of delivering a bumper donation of Easter eggs and soft toys to Claudia and Operations Manager, Emma at Service Six who will ensure the distribution of gifts to Faraway Children's Charity

We'd like to send a heart-warming thank you to everyone who helped the Elm Bank team collect so many wonderful gifts. From visitors of the home, to resident friends and family members, Elm Bank staff and Julia, the Community Champion at Morrisons Kettering Community.

THANK YOU - We hope these gifts of kindness put a smile on the faces of the Faraway children.

Easter Day Spring-time Fun

Our Easter Celebrations were full of the wonderful Spring sunshine which filled our hearts with joy now we can get back out into our garden.

We decorated Easter Bonnets, and had our own egg hunt in the garden. We all enjoyed an afternoon of Easter treats and a buffet whilst reminiscing and having a good laugh with our friends.

Easter Intergenerational Activities

The delightful young students from Abeona Warkton Nursery Kettering Northamptonshire joined us to take part in an Easter themed creative session. They helped make hand print bunnies and decorative bags for our Easter egg hunt before taking time to watch our ducklings Lucky and Nugget take their first swim.
